GOPPrincess--I did some checking around in the "OFFISHAL" Nascar Fan Rule Book..Page 3,527 Section FF Row 86 Seat 1 states: "Any fan gear that becomes obsolete because a driver changes sponsor OR number is still valid. The FAN is now part of a special allocation for race driver supporters known as the 'VINTAGE MEMBER' by demonstrating they have LONG supported a driver, through thick and thin. The aformentioned fan gear is OFFISHALLY termed VINTAGE FAN GEAR and is now worth more than two worn teddy bears and a Cabbage Patch doll with a Tonka Truck chaser."

When Mark Martin shifted from Valvoline to Viagra, when DJ switched from Ford to UPS etc, this rule has been in effect and UNCHANGED for hundreds of thousands of laps!

As this is a road course, remember this major rule change for today: No Free Pass on Cautions.

I hope so, he's my main man today!!

My second main man today says this......

"It will be exciting to see if we come from 23rd to the front," Gordon said. "Jeff Gordon starting on the front row is a big advantage for him. But we'll see. The first couple of laps will be real important.

"But if I win here, it's kind of anticlimactic. Everybody expects me to win at the road course. I had my own team back in 2000, we started dead last and finished third or fourth. There's no reason we shouldn't be able to come from 23rd to the front."

With pit strategy?

"We're going to beat him (Jeff Gordon) half a second a lap," Robby said. "We're going to catch him and pass him and go to the front. There's no reason we can't beat him straight up. We don't need race strategy or anything. "We came from 20th last weekend to get to him. There's no reason we can't come from 23rd on a road course, which is probably an easier place to pass than Indianapolis

The battle of the Gordon's??

I would love to see that, Carmel being one of the most beautiful places on earth then add in those cars......WOW.

Tire: Goodyear Eagle Road Course Radials

Number of Tires Required:
Front - 1,000;
Rear - 1,000
Tire Codes:
Front - D-6836;
Rear - D-6840

Tire Circumference:
Front - 87.4 in.;
Rear - 87.4 in.

Technical Inspection Inflation:
Left Front - 23 psi;
Right Front - 23 psi;
Left Rear - 20 psi;
Right Rear - 20 psi

Minimum Recommended Inflation:
Left Front - 22 psi;
Right Front - 20 psi;
Left Rear - 17 psi;
Right Rear - 17 psi

Estimated Pit Window: Every 32-36 laps, based on fuel mileage.

Notes: This is the first time Goodyear has brought this specific combination of tires to Watkins Glen . . . Nextel Cup teams ran the same tire code in all four tire positions at The Glen in 2003, but will run different codes on the front and rear at the track in 2004 . . . Cup teams have already run this same combination at the series' other road course at Infineon Raceway in June . . . while this rear tire is unique to the series' two road courses, Cup teams ran this front-tire (D-6836) on the right side at Martinsville earlier this season . . . as at Infineon, Nextel Cup teams will not run inner liners in their tires at Watkins Glen.

My team got clobbered last weekend, plus I failed to update drivers this week. I'm a dead man.
