Blackball (Republicans plan to boycott MSNBC's Hardball and Chris Matthews during the RNC)
US News & World Report ^ | 8/30/04 | Washington Whispers

Posted on 08/21/2004 11:59:56 PM PDT by Cableguy

You might notice something missing from Hardball With Chris Matthews soon: Republicans. " Hardball may seem more like badminton during the Republican National Convention," threatens a GOP insider. What's up? The GOP thinks Matthews has gone over to Sen. John Kerry 's side and is too critical of the Bush campaign's editing of a Hardball interview with Kerry posted on the party's negative site, www.kerryoniraq.com. As payback, they've stopped urging Republicans to appear on the show. Hardball executive producer Tammy Haddad dismisses charges Matthews is biased: "We beat everybody up." So far, nobody from the White House has told her of the show's being blackballed.

I just found this short account of an interview of Ms. Breitweiser. It puts new light on her experience and her pain. This is very sad:

Of course it's sad. But that doesn't mean that she's right in her crusade.

I didn't say she is right! Where did you get that idea?

In fact that's why I questioned where she and her 'Jersey Girl' friends had been during the 'Sandy Pants Berger' fiasco!

Personally, I think she is doing harm to her husband's memory by being used by the Democrat party in the way she has been.

But people do strange things when they have lost a loved one!

I think he meant to say "O'Reilly whips our ass."

Anyway, I never watch that blowhard Prissy Matthews because I've always known he's WAAAAY out there. But I tuned on for Michelle Malkin and Steve Gardner just this once. After that, I thought "I don't care who has on. I'm not going to watch him again."

Ms. Breitweiser is average looks. Nothing spectacular. Perhaps she comes across as very sincere and not an attack dog. I have not seen her on the tube so I dunno

I love the picture by GeronL. I always think of the Matthews show as "Hairball."

All of this over nothing. Mathews ratings just like the rest of the programs at MSNBC are in the toilet. Mathews could have made first contact with an alien civilization on his show, and no one would care. It is because he is a liberal goofball that no one watches his show. O'Reilly has better ratings and he is a "centrist". You ever wonder how long it will take the networks to figure out the real ratings would be with a real conservative? And I don't mean Tucker Carlson.

Black is white. This qualifies for this week's "Head In The Sand Award".

Matthews substituted for Rush a couple of years ago. His cursing and obnoxious behavior created so many angry complaints, he's never been asked back. Matthews lost me years ago. I can't stand his screaming over right-leaning guests and not letting them talk. How his wife stands him, I can't figure.

A Nielsen monitor attached to your TV, or Nielsen sending out logs to write in your viewing habits during "Sweeps", is the only measure of who is watching. Even this method is under extreme scrutiny within the industry.

If I were a Republican I would never go on Mathews' show.

Why would anyone subject themselves to be spit on by Mathews(literally) during an interview?

Hardball = Spitball.

Put him in the Janitor's closet with no windows and a 40 watt lightbulb.

No, put him in there with a 100 watt bulb...In no time flat, he'll be sweatting like the pig he is.

Sorry, I should have phrased that better -- I was just talking in general.

Personally, I think she is doing harm to her husband's memory by being used by the Democrat party in the way she has been. But people do strange things when they have lost a loved one!

Yep. There was a story yesterday about a British war widow who had lashed out at the govt when her husband died, who is now cautioning other war widows from doing the same thing.

I hope no conservative pundit will honor his show with his/her presence. Without someone to ambush, this Pug Ugly has no show.

Any links to Kathleen Matthews' stuff...?

People, this is stupid. Just don't watch. You are missing nothing. Email his sponsors and tell them you are not going to watch again. Also tell them you will not encourage them to censor him because censorship is generally bad, but best they be aware that you will not purchase their products again while they sponsor him because, simply, one is judged by the company one keeps.

On Laura Ingraham's radio show this morning she gave the number of words spoken by Chris Matthews (on the show with Michelle Malkin) and the number of words spoken by Malkin and also Willie Brown.

I cannot remember the exact number of words (darn) but Matthews spoke well over 800, Malkin in the 500 number, Brown was in the 200 number. Matthews' word count was in excess of Malkin and Brown combined at 51% - I know, big shocker!

Indeed, he does not really need a guest nor does he deserve any Republicans considering the manner in which he treats them.

Matthews' treatment of Malkin was nothing short of vile.

Would anyone have a link to a transcript of said show?
