[snip]Bush led Kerry by 52 percent to 41 percent, with independent Ralph Nader at 3 percent in the Newsweek poll of registered voters conducted Thursday and Friday. He also led by 11 without Nader, 54 percent to 43 percent. That suggests a giant 13-point bounce for Bush from the New York convention in contrast to Kerry's mini-bounce of a point or two after the Boston convention that focused heavily on his Vietnam War record.
It would also be one of the biggest bounces on record close to Bill Clinton's 16-point bounce in 1992, when he was able to benefit from the circumstance of independent candidate Ross Perot's surprise, but temporary, exit from the race.

Bush, stopping at a popcorn shop in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, shrugged off the polls and said: "Got a lot of work to do."

Kerry insisted: "We're doing good. They're going to get a bounce out of the convention, but we'll be coming back."
But outside Democratic strategists were busy tearing their hair out.
"They've got to shake it up on the road and get bolder and they have to move a lot faster in getting timely ads on the air," said one veteran Democratic strategist.
Another suggested that Kerry's campaign reflects the candidate's rather cool and aloof public personality and that has put a big chill on its ability to react fast in an era of instant news.

But in one of Bush's crowds, a Navy veteran proudly told how his Navy pilot son served in Iraq and offered Bush a crisp salute plus a jab at Kerry, saying:
"I wonder if you would permit the honor of giving our commander-in-chief a real Navy salute and not a flip-flop."

Driving around the New Orleans Metro area I have yet to see a Kerry/Edwards sign, a few bumper stickers, but thats all. I do a lot of Bush/Chenney sign on lawns, even in minority nieghborhoods. I put mine up a year ago right under my 18 foot flag pole. Kerry is wasting his time trying to win Lousiana.
These Swiftee window stickers get the word out to the driving public, display public support for the SBVFT, as well as displaying the website address!
One of the BIG reasons that Kerry has tanked in the polls is because of the Swiftees killer ads!
You can bet the DemocRAT 'smear the Swiftees' campaign will be kicked up to a whole new level now.
Support for the Swiftees is crucial right now, so they can get these ads on the air on REGULAR TV in battleground states.
FReepers are key in getting the word out about the righteousness of the SBVFT by exposing Kerry's FRAUD.

Gonna be a landslide, people! Isn't that freedom in the air, all over the world?
It's time for Bush to start pouncing on Mr. Kerry. He's a phony, fake fraud who cares only about himself and nothing else. It will be most satisfying to watch the liberal media and Hollywood cringe when Dubya trounces Monsieur Kerry.
I think he's going to do better than we did in 2000.

Good for Bush -- taking nothing for granted in this race!
Be careful, the internals of this poll shows that they over-sampled self-identified Republicans. In a more balanced poll, the numbers will come down a bit, which will give Kerry "momentum" just from returning to the proper balance.

A 13 point bounce...Excellent!!!!!! Bravo!
I drove back to pittsburgh from the outer banks before the convention. I saw a few W stickers but not a single Kerry/Edwards on the way home. Thousands and thousands of cars. No K/E.
My take on all this is that the MSM has been pumping Kerry's figures up to demoralize the Republicans but we didn't believe them and weren't demoralized, so now they are pumping up Dubya's numbers so they can drop them down again just before the election to demoralize Republicans.
There is only one poll that matters, it occurs on November 2, 2004, and it is not conducted by the MSM.
Thanks for the ping!

Here in Ventura County, I notice an increase in Bush stickers in the last couple of weeks. The Kerry stickers (anybody but Bush stickers are probably what they are) might be explained by the Dems being so frantic about defeating Bush - and their stickers are much more available, with Dem get-out-the-vote booths stationed in front of Trader Joe's, Vons and the theater where F 9/11 was playing (booths manned by angry young libs or 60's-leftovers).
I live in Houston and in the past month I've seen exactly TWO K/E bumper sticks and zero yard signs...oh yeah, I did see one for Kucinich in the window of a home but it FINALLY came down the week of the Dim convention...I've seen tons of W bumper stickers....in 2000 you didn't see them because they just weren't available. I had one of the few and someone followed me home one afternoon to ask how he could get one. I said "donate to the B/C campaign." he laughed and thanked me....
