The Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA) would be the campaign issue of this election if either party did not endorse it. The effect of this accord will make our Constitution bow to this international body. The original deadline of May 2004 was purposely and deliberately changed to Jan 2005, after our elections.

The FTAA will erase our borders, allow for the issuing of driver's licenses to all citizens of the 33 other American nations, extend Social Security, welfare, medical and education benefits to millions. Worse yet, with the evaporation of borders, terrorists will find easy access to our nation.
Do not expect either party, or the media to discuss this openly, or the ramifications of this accord. After the elections it will be too late to alter the course of events.
This is the most important election of our time. The FTAA is the reason why.
That is not what free trade does.
Sounds tinfoil-hat-ish to me.
If they want to debate the merits of free trade, fire away. But this is just tin-foil hat sacre tactic bullcrap.
Our domestic agenda has been set at the Summit of the Americas and follow up meetings since 1994. The Summit of the Americas and the "working groups" set the policies for education, health, cultural diversity, children and youth, infrastructure, etc.
Americans simply won't wake up.
So right, and this is not about free trade. The "free trade" term is a ruse meant to deceive the American public on the FTAA.

Yep. The WTO is one of the culprits too. OUr major export is food, and the WTO just succeeded in stopping us from subsidizing our farm output. Our exports already read like a manifest from the 1700's. This will see to it that it reads like a manifest from the 1400's.

It is a lonely road, isn't it. :)
All people have to do is look at why policies are being implemented that make no since (and the American people don't want), like the borders, Social Security for "migrants", remittances, etc., but they won't.
About all we can do at this point is learn Spanish.
It seems the leaders of both parties are determined to find out if there are any true patriots left in this country.

How would free trade erase our constitution?
What they refer to as the "Free Trade of the Americas" is hemispheric integration, a 'super state'. Look at the European Union.
Free Trade or Free Enterprise is when governments get the hell out of the way, this process outlines everything down to labor issues, education, human rights, the environment, migration, what is on tv. They have even suggested the registration of all children.

Rage at your representatives until your tongue falls out.
It makes our constitution secondary to this accord. Disputes, and they will be many, will not be addressed within our government, or even the US Supreme Court. They will be resolved by international bodies for arbitration and mediation.
The most important element of the FTAA is to duplicate the European Union in the western hemisphere. Member nations of the European Union have lost tremendous amounts of sovereignty. Our constitution will be in effect for many domestic issues involving citizens and government, but have little effect on issues revolving around this accord with 33 American nations.
This is inevitable. You will be surprised to see how the US operates, politically and economically, in 50 years. There is nothing either party can and is willing to about it. The only difference between the two parties is that one is on a faster route to this state of affairs.
To all that have replied to this post. If you are aware of this accord, please make others aware. If this is your first introduction to this accord, do some searches in search engines and look specifically for items written by citizens from the other members nations of FTAA. You will see many citizens of these nations await the final agreement as they speak of coming to the USA without any hindrance of our immigration laws and policies. This accord essentially stops all the debates on immigration, legal and illegal.
Many of the people that have responded are very aware of the FTAA. I am certain they would share their knowledge with all that ask.
