Olbermann Lays Out Right-Wing Conspiracy Behind Faked Memos (Brent Bozell ID's Buckhead)

The originator of the online discrediting of the Killian memos identifed himself only as 'Buckhead,' but a little sleuthing on the website pulls up his other postings and thus a lot more about him.

On the site, (MSNBC displays FreeRepublic.com page with the Buckhead posting) Buckhead claims he is a lawyer from the Atlanta area who participated last month in a meeting of lawyers for Bush-Cheney, an organization he said will be called upon in the event there are election irregularities and everyone winds up in court again.

He says he was worked for a Congressman prominent in GOP legal circles down in Georgia.

So the Killian documents come out and are almost immediately questioned by a lawyer with Republican ties and are distributed to other news organiztions without comment by the White House and they nly have one of their principal endorsers (Bobby Hodges) retract his endorsement.

Mark Levine said the same thing last night on his show. I believe it is true.

They are more worried about someone who pointed out the possible forgery than they are about who forged the documents..

Olbermann on yesterday's (September 13, 2004) edition of Countdown:

"Nor has anybody yet explained how the documents came to be so quickly and thoroughly refuted on a right-wing Web site not two hours after they were first revealed on CBS. The originator of the online discrediting of the Killian memos identified himself only as 'Buckhead,' but a little sleuthing on the Web site on which he posted his typographical criticism pulls up all his other postings and thus a lot more info about him. On the site [on screen MSNBC displayed a FreeRepublic.com page with a "Buckhead" posting], Buckhead claims he is a lawyer from the Atlanta area who participated last month in a meeting of lawyers for Bush-Cheney, an organization he said will be called upon in the event there are election irregularities and everybody winds up in court again. He says he has worked for a Congressman. He says he considers himself prominent in GOP legal circles in Georgia. So the Killian documents come out and are almost immediately questioned by a lawyer with Republican ties and are distributed to other news organizations without comment by the White House and they suddenly have one of their principal endorsers [Bobby Hodges] retract his endorsement. How many rats do you smell?"

'How many rats do I smell?' Let's see....

I played football with Ed McCaffrey, who caught passes from John Elway, who introduced President Bush in Denver today, and Bush is casual acquaintances with... KARL ROVE!

Yeah, but did you ever play on Lambert Field?
I mean, that's really important!

No, I'M BUCKHEAD!

I really just made up all that stuff about being a lawyer from Georgia. I'm actually a machinist from Minnesota. I've even got the typed documents from Texas circa 1973 to prove it!

Don't forget, it has to be someone from an urban area. None of the Dirtsville hicks could have pulled this off. Besides, all they want is war.

We need to get thousands of Tshirts made that say:

I Am Buckhead

More might prefer - WHO'S BUCKHEAD?

But where is the cafe printing on quality t's or polo shirts? Russell athletic makes good t's, so does Sear's Landing (whatever it is?). Everlast. And Ashcroft makes some good quality non-knit polos. Even those from Mervyn's Cambridge Classic Performance aren't half bad. There are some outdoor outfitters with good baseball caps (though people are wearing those less). But I doubt the online cafe press's would use such.
