Rasmussen: 59% say Iraqi people better off today
Rasmussen Report ^

Posted on 09/27/2004 9:20:15 AM PDT by Kylie_04

Fifty-nine percent (59%) say that the Iraqi people are better off today than they were when Saddam Hussein was in charge. Fourteen percent (14%) say life for the Iraqi people is pretty much the same today as it was under Hussein.

There is an enormous gap on this question between voters who favor Bush and those who support Kerry. By a 94% to 2% margin, Bush voters believe the Iraqi people are better off today.

Since I am not sure if your post was sarcasm or not, I will reply...No, this was a US poll.

I'm curious how Americans know that Iraqis are better off or not? Wouldn't a more accurate poll be taken of the Iraqis? What would we say if a poll were taken by Europeans saying whether we were better off or not?

This poll surely won't see the light of day. It contradicts popular wisdom.

However, among Kerry voters, 34% say that the Iraqi people were better off under Hussein. Just 26% say Iraq's residents are better off today while 24% say things are about the same.

???? Wow, some idiots you just can't argue with. Wihat moron could possibly believe that crap.

If the US thinks Iraq is better off they'll vote for Bush. If not they'll vote for Kerry. This poll makes it impossible for Kerry to get a majority on his posistion.

"If the US thinks Iraq is better off they'll vote for Bush. If not they'll vote for Kerry."

I think the question people will ask is if THEY themselves are better off because of Iraq, not whether the Iraqis are. This was never about the Iraqis.

It's like judging whether the Germans are better off without Hitler or the Russians without Stalin.

There's really no contest--  and yes, outsiders can tell.

What ever happen to this:

“5,000 Iraqi Children Die Every Month from Malnutrition Because of Sanctions.”

The RATs never bring this up anymore ...

This is why I thought it interesting enough to post. Kerry's new "Iraq is a mess" mantra obviously isn't catching on with those that got called to answer this poll...and this, I think, is a very good thing.

Its both. We are better off because a madman has been replaced by friendlies and Iraq is better off. The only folks not better off are the rats.

So if a poll taken in England said that we would be better off with Kerry, that would be a valid poll?

You and I don't know if Schroeder is better than Kohl, but we do know that either is better than Hitler.   Neither GW Bush nor Kerry is anything like Saddam Hussein.  There is no comparison between politicians with various ideologies, and unspeakably evil genocidal tyrants.
