As I posted earlier. Repeat it often. Stop the gloom and doom.
President Bush spent last Thursday in a hurricane relief center and his campaign has not made a big deal out of it. John Kerry spent his Thursday at a salon getting a manicure and his campaign thought that it was a good idea to publicize it.
Flash cannot be sustained, substance persists.
Bush needs to outline his "substance" in the debates, judging from his performance last week. Simply reading scripted talking points at campaign stops isn't good enough. He needs to be able to think on his feet. We will see how he does during the next debate.
You think it might be wise for Repubs to run ads showing Mr Bush in FL, doing his job, and comforting hurricane victims? Perhaps have a narrator saying he may not be a glib or effective debater, but he gets the job done. Or something like that. It might just work, though I suppose some will think it's not appropriate, or that Mr Bush prefers not to publicize things like this.
Any thoughts?
Remember that many undecided who do vote don't even start looking seriously at the election until one month to two weeks before the election, if that early.
