The President campaigned in Pennsylvania and Michigan today.
The White House provided this Link to the President's achievements, stating that Bush's "first term has been among the most consequential and successful in modern times."
The Cheneys campaigned in Tallahassee.
There are some late photos from yesterday of Laura Bush campaigning in Reno and Milwaukee.
I must comment on the fact that Yahoo is posting hideous photos of the Bushes and Cheneys on their web site, the more so as November 2 draws near.
QUOTE: Commending the US House of Representatives for rejecting the bill sponsored by Democrat Charles Rangle, called "Reinstate the Draft", President Bush said, "If this bill were presented to me, I would veto it. America's all-volunteer military is the best in the world, and reinstating the draft would be bad policy."
Democrat Congressman Charles Rangel (D-NY) Introduced The "Universal National Service Act Of 2003" To Reinstate Military Draft. "A BILL To provide for the common defense by requiring that all young persons in the United States, including women, perform a period of military service or a period of civilian service in furtherance of the national defense and homeland security, and for other purposes." (H.R. 163, Introduced 1/7/03 By Rep. Charles Rangel)
Enjoy your daily Dose of W @ Sanity Island!
Imagine being a little kid and having Dick and Lynne Cheney for grandparents.
Too cool.
Thanks re captions. ;-)
btw...I love the Barney playing poker pic.
There were more rejects than usual today. Did you see Drudge, and then a FReeper's thread, about how a reporter cropped a photo of W so that the campaign sign behind him read:
R
A
GE
?
Apparently on another day, one of those dimwit reporters cropped a different background behind Bush so it read, "ilie".
No, thank YOU for the pre-dinner happy grins!
I was so eager to get signed up, I thought anything would do! Sounds like a volcano, though, doesn't it? ;')
Hanging in there and optimistic about the debate on Friday.
A story on behalf of W, The President. This weekend, we were registering Republican voters at a booth in our town's fair, and this guy came up and asked if he could have a few bumper stickers and a couple of yard signs. We said sure.
As the guy left, I turned to my friends in the booth and said, "I have a bad feeling about him." Just then, my husband, standing across the street from our booth must have felt what I felt about this guy, and took after him, directly.
We were right. As the guy was crushing what we had given him, and ready to put it in the trash, my husband spoke in a low and forceful voice and said..."I'll take that!" The guy was shocked to hear a voice, clutched onto what he was destroying, and said, "No they're my property!...I'll call the Sheriff!" My hubby said, "Yep, isn't it just like you socialist punks to cry for help...like all those countries who treat us poorly, then cry for George Bush to bail them out.
My husband began walking behind him--it's a public street. When the guy asked him why he was following him, he said, "My President doesn't back down, and neither do I."
I love my husband for that. He was calm, cool, and firm.
My husband is right. Our President doesn't back down, nor must we.
Tell stories about how our President has inspired you, to others.
Do something nice for someone else (open a door, give them a compliment, let them in line ahead of you, etc.) and say, "This act of kindness is on behalf of our President, George W. Bush."
Get creative, and get busy...there aren't many days left. And, the safety of the entire free world depends on our success!

**That's the nicest photo I've seen of the Cheneys.
Gives me the impression they spend a lot of time building each other up, being supportive with their whole hearts, and are reaping the joy of investing their lives in each other's well-being.**
Yes indeed total and loving support that shows whatever the outcome of this election the most important thing is that they have each other.

It's certainly unique and it reminds me of Hawaii for some reason.
**When the wives entered the stage after the debate last night, Lynn Cheney looked at the V.P. with an expression of sympathy that would melt your heart, BUT she then lit up into a big smile of love and joy for him. It was one of those moments that two married people can share only if they have shared their love for years. It was beautiful.**
It brings tears to your eyes it was so lovely.
Other than ending fascism, Nazism, etc..
War Never Accomplishes Anything.
The crop just had the bottom part of the sign & the protest warrior insignia. Bet they were steaming when they saw that.
Good evening all IMHO Cheney did great last night silky (my little pony) was toast.
Cheney not only served him up toasted, buttered, and jellied before dropping him gooey side down, he neatly drew and quartered his opponent. ;-)
Ah-LOH-ha.
I missed that (the Cheneys onstage right after the debate, and how they interacted) -- thanks for posting it. The only channel I could get clearly was cbs and I just could not hack dan lying rather and bob lying schieffer start in.
Hi ya Gretchen! Thank you for the wonderful selection of photos today.
