PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE III (live thread)
10.13.04 | Joe, and the rest of FR.

Posted on 10/13/2004 5:19:44 PM PDT by Joe Hadenuf

45 minutes to go. If there is already a live debate thread go ahead and delete this.

I understand posting a live thread has become a somewhat of a political ordeal here, when it shouldn't be. So to take the pressure off, I'm posting this anyway. Do I dare? LOL!

Someone capture this page BEFORE they change it PLEASE!

See where they say the "story can end"?! The two HOTTEST TOPICS of the debate and they say the "STORY CAN END HERE"! No media bias! /SARCASM!!!

(STORY CAN END HERE)

When both men were asked whether they believe homosexuality is a personal choice, Kerry pointed to one of Vice President Dick Cheney's daughters, who is lesbian.

"We're all God's children," Kerry said, speaking of Mary Cheney. "And I think if you were to talk to Dick Cheney's daughter, who is a lesbian, she would tell you that she's being who she was, she's being who she was born as. I think if you talk to anybody, it's not choice."

Bush said he did not know if homosexuality was a choice but said, "I do know that we have a choice to make in America and that is to treat people with tolerance and respect and dignity."

Kerry acknowledged some Catholic clergy are telling church members that a vote for a candidate who supports abortion rights would be a sin.

"I respect their views. I completely respect their views. I am a Catholic. And I grew up learning how to respect those views. But I disagree with them, as do many," Kerry said.

Bush, who opposes abortion rights, said that he understood that "there's great differences on this issue of abortion," but he faulted Kerry as being out of the "mainstream" for voting against a law to ban a procedure known as "partial-birth abortion."

Yup, it sure was.
$4 an hour back then was "big money" for a kid just out of high school.
The Census ended and I took other jobs, often 2 or 3 part-time jobs at a time. [shoe stores, Holiday Inn hostess etc etc]
For $2.35 I sanded and filed beauty parlor furniture all night.

Anyone not think that the DNC convention salute and stating that I am reporting for duty, is the thing that Kerry will regret the most in the campaign, especially when people see, Lost Honor...

<< I suspect he won over 1 million female voters tonight. >>

The way Bush & Cheney treat their wives will win them this election. :-)

Just jumping into this thread...anybody grab the full context of W's comments on not being concerned about Osama? I remember him saying that and even Fox is misrepresenting and cutting off his remarks.

Back in the 80's I was making 13.50 per hour, but the bottom fell out here in Houston, and I had to do something else..become a cop, and that was a pay decrease...

kerry also claims he was once stalking a 16 pointer ON CAPE COD!!!! where no one has ever seen such a thing...

In the Boston area, there are several radio hosts who are MERCILESS with Kerry and they have been banging on him for 4 hours a day for the last year. Howie Carr and Jay Severin. They were most influential in getting Mitt elected governor, and it will be interesting to see the votes for Kerry coming out of MA....many many people can't stand him here...

IMO:

The Dems had a PROJECTED surplus. They kept crowing about it, perfectly aware we were already in a recession. W decided to make them own that, so he stated that a surplus meant the government was keeping too much money and brought out the tax cuts.

On the other side, we have a PROJECTED deficit, which keeps going down as revenues increase....but not fast enough, unfortuneately.

I am not any sort of financial expert, but I think the deficit is current spending vs revenue and the national debt is long term financial liabilities?

No worries; the money folks will be along to set us all straight, soon enough.
