No more pan-shots of Derek Jeter!!!!
me

Posted on 10/21/2004 6:34:31 AM PDT by robjna

I try to stay away from vanities and just reply to the great posts of my fellow freepers, but I have to post this. I am so fed up with havingto look at Derek Jeters reaction to every single play in post season. The network pans to his mug at leat 80 times a game. Granted , he is a tremendous ball player i give him that, but the cameras are panning in to the pretty boy looks and it is sickening. A-rod hits a homer -pan to Jeter. Pedro strikes out Sheffield-pan to Jeter. Foul ball- pan to Jeter. They used to do the same crap when Warren Sapp was in Tampa. It just makes the experieince of the game frustrating to watch. So GO BOSOX, even though somehow Kerry will relate how he helped them win. It is still good to know that you can't always buy a championship. Again , I apologize for the selfish vanity.

Heh heh heh... I had to look at this post to find out who the heck Derek Jeter is. I thought it was a reference to some '60's sit-com person.

Fox MLB coverage is awful. Buck and McCarver are unbearable to listen to, and the stupid things they do like this make it nearly unwatchable. Also, the little Scooter cartoons and such that they play over and over have to drive regular viewers like me crazy.

Better than watching constant pictures of Schilling's ankle or Henry, Oh Henry. Yankee's hired pitching were spineless all season. But don't trash the Yankees overall record. How many of you's out there didn't even show? I've been a Yankee fan for over 50 years and will not cry in my beer at all tonight. I knew we were in trouble with the type of pitchers that we bought. So to all who love to trash the Yankees and the money they always use, it didn't buy them anything. I'm already looking forward to next season. Remember it's only a game. Oh yes. The Red Sox aren't there yet, but even if they do (and they do have a great team), they have awhile to catch up to some of the Yankee records. Just winning it back to back is another challenge that the Yankees have done plenty of times. While on the subject of pitching, I really have to appreciate the old man of pitching Roger Clemens. This guy is amazing and fights for everything. Wishing him well tomorrow.

I'm going to miss it...I adore Jeter and think he has some of the best expressions in baseball. No matter what the pressure, he always looks so loose and carefree. I have a son who catches and have pointed it out to him many times. I think Jeter's great!

However, when you expand the sports, he doesn't hold a candle to John Gruden. Even I'm sick of seeing his mug!

It's actually called a "cut-away" shot, not pan. I feel your pain.

So GO BOSOX, even though somehow Kerry will relate how he helped them win.

Admittedly, I am pulling against the BoSox for this reason.

He hopes to align himself with the team and use the "comeback kid" slogan, just like Clinton did.

I am a NL fan, but any other year would've had me hoping the Sox would win.

Please forgive my selfishness.

He's not exactly a pretty boy, though.........

Jeter runs to top step of the dugout everytime something good happens for the Yankees to be sure that his face is shown on the dugout shot. He is a total camera hog.

Did anyone notice that the Yankees didn't come out to congratulate the Bosox after the game. Unlike the Dodgers, who for the first time in major league baseball, came out on the field and congratulated the Cardinals for winning their playoff series.

The networks are trying to attract more gay viewers hence the shots of Jeter.

I noticed it. I was hoping for a classy display of sportsmanship but no dice.

I copied this from a post on a sports message board:

Signing the best free-agent Shortstop to join your team who already has an all-star shortstop - 200,000,000 $

Signing the best hitter from Japan and a Power hitter from Atlanta to help your Monopoly - 75, 000, 000 $

Paying a power hitter first baseman to sit the bench and watch the game. 100,000,000 $

Looking at the faces on every single one of those guys when the Red Sox bent them over, at home, after being down 3 games to none. PRICELESS
