It's legal and tacky but could be entertaining and revealing. Check out who starts sporting a Kerry bumper-sticker, they'll probably be trying to sign you up for the corporate recommended donation levels for the United Way next year.

I am a contractor...

I told one of my journymen carpenters that the minimum wage only drives the cost of everything up...like PIZZA and BEER...

I told him its a tax on everyday sevices such as resteraunts and car washes....

He got it...I went on to explain to him that there isnt anything such as free healthcare...we all pay for health care one way or the other...

Finally I told him if your happy being lower middle class keep voting for democrats...otherwise, if you want to be rich...start voting for rich people...

Personally here's what I would do:

* I would create multiple anonymous e-mail accounts at hotmail or yahoo.

* Copy the e-mail addrresses for all employees and send 5 or so ringing endorsements for George W. Bush (each different, unique and witty) and 1 scathing attack on the board member for using his position in the company to influence employees' votes (be sure to bring up whether it could be illegal),

* Be sure and do this all at home so not on company time or traceable to a company computer.

I wouldn't do it at home...at the library or local internet cafe...better yet break into the bosses office and use his puter...

My thought is, it is inappropriate. But perhaps some particular issue might be worth mentioning, that is helpful to company policy.

For instance, someone going past us in a real estate vehicle gave us a thumbs down while we were waving signs for Bush last week. I was surprised to see someone voting actually against their own interests.

If I was running a real estate company, I think I might say something about how an ownership society and low interest rates is good for the company.

but many people have asked him which candidate would be more helpful to the company.

Sure they did...

What corporation is this? Perhaps the shareholders don't agree with this doofus' politics. Unless they make airport security equipment. Ha ha?

Who knows. I freelance for companies out of NYC. If I don't keep my mouth shut, I don't get hired.

Also I am sick of hearing all the Rat's talking points regurgitated to me all the time. I just got the same s**t talking points while getting a manicure. You know, Bush is an idiot, Haliburton, Blah, blah, blah.

I feel like punching someone if they start in on all of that again.

Your workers make $60/hour? If the minimum wage was $60/hour, I am sure no body would be bitching. That is about what Kerry makes in the Senate?

JOHN KERRY IS "GOOD FOR BUSINESS" WHICH IS A CROCK!

I'M SURE THE "BOSS" GAVE REASONS WHY HE WAS SO HOT
ON KERRY.

We have a lot of new folks around here close to the
election.

Most of my crew make between 25 and 60 bucks an hour btw...

Wow. I was making about $12.00 an hour as a die setter, until about a month ago when the company had a meetings and said they lost money last quarter. They said everyone had to take a 10% pay cut. :(

Just ignore the request and vote for Bush.

On November 5th, she can ask for a raise.

Is this legal, ethical or just tacky?

I don't know about "legal, eithical or tacky." Maybe he thinks you don't have a mind of your own?

>>Is this legal, ethical or just tacky?<<

I would vote for simply tacky, as well as not too intelligent. Unless the boss knew the politics of each of his employees, from the last few elections, he should expect that roughly half of them do not agree with his own. Setting the stage for political arguments in the office is not too smart.

General rule of thumb. If you even paused for a minute to consider this to be illegal you are probably on the wrong forum.(hint DU is ready when you are)
