After getting folks all across the country on Free Republic and blogland excited and raring to go to D.C. for some reason or another having to do with John Kerry, Navy Chief has announced a NO GO.

------------------------------------------------------------------------ I have been asked by the highest authorities (No -- I will not expound) to not hold this Rally.
Although our actions and intent has been nothing but honorable, this effort will not serve our purposes.
My sincerest apologies for this but I must ask that we stand down...
I certainly hope the "highest authorities" know what they are doing and I don't like this anymore than anyone else but I must ask you to stand down.
We can however, return to our previous effort in getting the truth to media outlets, Congress, and other influencial organizations.
This was a great idea and I'm very disappointed -- I hope you will forgive me for this. I'm assured that all will be clear in time (yeah right).

And why isn't he listed on the book then? I'm looking at the book right this minute and he's not even mentioned.
Don't try to link the mess this guy has made to the Swift Vets.
Why should John O'Neill say anything about a rally, Howlin? It wasn't a Swiftvet sponsored rally!
Well said Misty. I can't begin to list the reasons I despise John Kerry, and although I didn't follow politics/politicians closely until, say, the early 80's or so, his treasonous behavior, that's exposed by this election, just adds another to the list.
FGS
True enough, it was Corsi who was the researcher, expert on Vietnam and co-author.
Tonk, since NC posted the news and rally information and the Swifty site has much support here, it is not unreasonable to ask him to come here and answer a few questions. I wouldn't be surprised he if didn't, but it isn't out of line.
My suggestion is people back off on the invective some. NC might have jumped the gun but he is not an enemy. I will say I am little concerned about him going off on his own with a press conference and/or rally without checking with O'Neill or Hoffman (if that is what happened), but we've seen that kind of thing happen here on FR about a thousand times.
I feel confident as well.
To me, it is obvious that Kerry got an Other Than Honorable Discharge, but he has worked hard to hide it from the public. Even though the Sec. of Navy admitted it to NavyChief or someone else, he may not be willing to go on record. To get proof, someone would have to release Kerry's sealed records from the Navy, and military guys have a code of ethics and conducts alot higher than the DNC.
Perhaps the truth will come out eventually, but it doesn't matter at this point because Bush is going to win BIG. I'm just amazed that nobody from the MSM has been willing to even ask Kerry anything about Vietnam.
I have been asked by the highest authorities (No -- I will not expound) to not hold this Rally.
And I ask you again: if the Swift Vets didn't ask him to back off, who did?
And I will point out again that EVERY SINGLE thread concerning this linked to HIS post on the Swift Boat forum; what other conclusion is a person to draw?
You might be right. Personally I think it would have been bad to have a rally fizzle. I think NavyChief's heart was in the right place, but I don't see how it would have worked out to benefit anyone. Oh, but I really want his information to get out into the public SOMEHOW! I am as frustrated as everyone else that we sit on this pile of crap and half the country is completely ignorant about the facts. Kerry does not deserve to be in contention for CIC.
There are some really wild claims being made here.
Researcher do NOT work without being given credit.
Troy Jenkins is in one of the mini-movies that the SwiftVets released this week (it is the 4th one I think called No Man Left Behind). Watch it and you'll see. I don't think Jenkins did any research for the book, but he did start doing alot of research (almost full time) in August and September at the Vietnam Archives at Texas Tech in Lubbock. He had his expenses paid by the SwiftVets, but that is all. He also had the SwiftVets provide him with an assistant to help go thru the Archives. I don't know him, so I'm just telling you what I've read about him on the SwiftVets forums and from an interview with him on someones weblog.
LOL...nice eyes
Sounds like Bush/Karl Rove finally intervened.
".......why isn't John O'Neill calling this rally/press conference???"
I don't know why, I can't answer that.
MAYBE the Swift Boat founders are planning someting else.
NavyChief is offline
Perhaps you can signup and send him a private e-mail on the forum.
ONLY he can answer your questions.
Thanks! :-)
I won't stop either, Diva! The vets are going to have their say!!!
