PENNSYLVANIA GOING TO BUSH!?!?!?!

I have been doing work for two candidates, One a guy running for PA State House, and another one in the US House (John Peterson)... From what I'm hearing higher up in the campaigns, the GOP voting turnout in this rural area of PA (that went 62-34 to Bush) is OFF THE FRICKIN CHARTS!!!

They actually think Pennsylvania is going to goto Bush.. I'll get more when I hear it!!!!!

I'm in a very small town in the Northern Panhandle. Just went up to the polling place about an hour ago - it was probably busier than I've ever seen it, although that only means there were about four or five people there to vote. I think they had six voting booths set up, so there was no waiting.

A woman from Philly called in to the Laura Ingham show and said there was moveon persons handing out stickers and making derogatory remarks to Republicans at the poll. She went and called the law, when she went back they were gone.

I arrived at my suburban (outside Phila) polling place at 8:00 AM and for the first time in 18 years there was a significant line, It took Mrs RVN and me close to an hour to vote. All of our neighbors were there poll watching, handing out lit, or scurrying off to do other work for the GOP. My wife is driving and working the phones, all in all a high energy GOP effort in our local precinct.

Also we both were in Lancaster last week, WOW!!!!!

twigs I voted to day in Bucks county.I had to stand in line for 1/2 hour and the line was growing in back of me.You could not find a parking spot and had to park in the driveway leading up to the school.There were moreon.org signs and many more that I did not have time to look at.To my surprise my daily Mass going neighbor was handing out the Democratic ballot as I walked in.People were arguing in line.When I left the Democrat and Republican committee men were arguing outside.At 9-30 they were up to 330 votes and my neighbor said she had to stand in line for 1 hour to vote when they opened.I did not see a lot of young people but many men of the age group of Vietnam.I also saw more than half holding the Republican ballot in their hands as they left the voting booth.

I've heard the same thing. My buddy is a poll watcher, and the GOP rep told them last night that Iowa, Penn, FL and WI all look VERY good for Bush.

Thats a good sign. However Indiana Amish are probably the most conservative order. No covered buggies, unfinished floors, they even gave one guy a hard time for having a horse powered timber frame shop. The next step would be motors you know. The Amish here in Seymour, Mo came from Indiana in '68. PA Amish are a bit more progressive and probably more politically savy.

I went to vote this morning in the borough of Hulmeville just outside of Philadelphia. Our borough has a population of 893, about 681 of them voting age. I was voter #221 at 10:30 this morning. I have voted later in previous elections and only been voter 46, so this indicates to me that turnout in the Philly suburbs if very high. I believe that it is about a 50-50 split of Democrats to Republicans in this borough. We are only a few minutes outside of the Philly border and so get a decent amount of people fleeing from heavily Democratic Philadelphia. There were no lines to speak of. A senior citizen gentleman was in line ahead of me and one lady was already in the booth. No obvious problems in the place. However, one amusing anecdote. Outside of the polling place were 3 young boys, around 11 or 12 sitting on their bikes. One was holding a Bush/Kerry sign. As I entered, one of the boys asked "John Kerry?" The boy with the sign held up his sign. I pointed at the sign to indicate that I was voting for Bush. The boy asking about Kerry said, in a totally disbelieving tone of voice "Oh no! You've got to be kidding me!", while the other two boys just grinned at him. Apparently, he hadn't gotten anyone who had indicated that they were voting for Kerry. So, from this unofficial poll, one might assume that Philly's suburbs aren't going to go for Kerry in the same way that they went for Al Gore in 2000! (Of course, this also might just be wishful thinking!). Also, to confirm an earlier poster from this morning regarding New York unions busing people to Philly, I can personally testify that, after voting when I stopped at the local convenience store, a car with a New York license plate pulled up and let out two people with Kerry stickers on their chests with clipboards who started walking down the street, apparently in a get out the vote attempt.

My son just voted for the first time in Northeast Philly. He said there was really no one there to vote. No line, no one bothering him. He asked for help and was told I can't tell you how to vote I can just show you how to do it. He voted BUSH and left! This is a heavy democratic area and no line I'm wondering if this means dem turnout won't be heavy in this area?
