Yup, Senator Edwards speaks. SoreLoserman II begins tonight, but I'm not waiting!

Congratulations President Bush!!

It's all over but the crying for the SoreLosermen!!

And now it's time for us to start planning the Free Republic George W. Bush Inaugural Ball II!

I've had Kristinn checking venues and prices and we're in the process of getting a proposal from the Wyndham City Center Hotel in Washington, DC (the other Wyndham that we used last time is already booked).

The costs have more than doubled from our first ball, so we're estimating the price per person will have to be in the neighborhood of $175 per person. We'll also have to move fast on this. We'll need to make a quick decision as soon after the elections results are official as we possibly can and then we'll need to quickly raise the funds to put up the required deposit.

So, here's the question: Are you ready for an Inaugural Ball?

If so, please post here if you plan to attend and how many will be in your party.

Thank you all very much and hope to see you in DC on January 20th!!

By the way, everyone told us last time that the Free Republic Ball was the best one in town and it was half the price or less than all the others. I suspect that this Ball will also be the best in town and at $175 will still be priced less than any other!

Hi, Chieftain -- that was such a wonderful experience 4 years ago! It's always a pleasure to meet like minded concerned freepers, at such a WONDERFUL festive ball!, and it was so cathartic after everything to sing "Hey, hey, GOODBYE!" in the subway.

Thanks for the ping. I'll see how it looks for me /us.

DIPS---I am so glad to finally have a name for it! I have the disease as well. Is there a cure? It is very embarrassing in some situations. Almost like having Tourette's Syndrome.

LOL Morning Pod! Hope all is going well with you :) Even though I live in a nasty blue state, we're working hard to wrestle it into submission and are overjoyed at the election! Go President Bush!

Click the link at this post for an idea of how it looks for hotels. There are alot more hotels than listed there, but it'll give you an idea. Use every type of discount program you've got!

I'll start scouting hotels in the area next week once we've got the contract set for the Ball with the Wyndham.

Yes, hopefully we'll be able to do CPAC again. This year we 'nutmeggers' have to get together and plot a takeover of our beloved state! See you at the ball!

It's 90% sure. I've had a meeting, received proposals, just waiting on them to come up with a contract so we can finalize the Ball. I don't see it falling through, but until the ink is dry we can't make the formal announcement and sell tickets.
