"Kay Baily-Hutchison is not losing her seat."

Damn straight. I'm volunteering tomorrow. Is it too much to expect a 20K salary - all I need is a paycheck to justify my time to my wife ;)

Feinstein, Diane (D) California
Kennedy, Edward (D) Massachusetts

You are kidding, right? These are two of the safest Senate seats in the country.

Kennedy will be replaced by someone like Meehan.

It will be like repeating the cycle all over again.

Well, this is what I've told quite a few GOP senators this morning, by way of their contact pages http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm

Move Lincoln Chafee from "Somewhat vulnerable" to "OUTTA HERE". He is a RINO disgrace.

Delaware Republicans are already talking about the US Senate race in '06. First-term Senator Tom Carper (D) is up, and I need help in diagnosing his weaknesses/vulnerability. I definitely don't buy the "safe and sound" classification.

We must win in Iraq too, and reduce Twin Debts. I'm sure the President will succeed in these targets, but not in two years!

An excellent and timely post. Now, while we are energized and motivated, is the time to look ahead. The Dems will continue down the road to socialism. We need to make it a dead end road to nowhere.

Put George Allen in the safe and sound territory and give me what you have been smoking. I need to relax.

I live on the other side of the country, but if Ever ready Teddy retires, don't you think he'd try to get one of his nieces or nephews elected in his place to keep the Kennedy stronghold on that seat in the Senate?

If New Yorkers know Hillary is going to run for presidency in 2008, wouldn't that be a factor in her senate seat re-election? Why would you want vote for someone who is not going to do the job elected for?>???

Agreed....All the House is up again '06.....We can hope that the 'rats keep up their snarling, spitting obstructionist business-as-usual ways.

I think the present 'rat establishment can't help but try the same old things....they can't change...it's in their genes......it's the way they are.....cats catch birds...it's the way they are.

The 'rats will keep on, thru the ACLU et al, ramming gay marrige, removal of Christian symbols from our buildings, forcing gay rights, removing God from all our institutions,.....using the courts to force laws that they cannot get passed thru legislation...down our collective throats. The U.S. map cannot help get anything except redder.

The 'rats can only look forward to losing more house and Senate seats in '06 and in '08 the R's will maybe gain a veto-proof Congress. When that happens, the 'rats will be religated to being a minority for a hundred years.

Kennedy is safe with the voters in MA; their brains are frozen. However, Kennedy is likely to have liver disease, stroke, heart attack - so he may not be able to run again.

Bush will send Rove out to tackle the 2006 election. He will leave the senate and house in good shape and set the framework for the 08 election. Guaranteed. Bush, as we have all learned leaves no stone unturned. He is meticulous.

Kennedy will be replaced by someone like Meehan.

Don't forget that former Congressman Joe Kennedy has been considered likely to replace his uncle for years.

Barney Frank is interested in the Senate as are a few others. I do not believe that Meehan could win against Reps. Frank or Lynch. Markey has been around the longest but he is really a lightweight.
