Thank you for your response to the article. I came to the same conclusion about two paragraphs in. These people cannot come to grips with the concept of a genuine presentation of heartfelt values, letting the voting chips fall where they may. It's all packaging to fool the rubes in order to gain power.

Kansas has a Dem governor as well; it doesn't mean we would vote for a Dem prez.

Nominating a novice like Coors was a mistake. Schaffer would have beaten Salazar.

But Schaffer wasn't electeable.....

(/my impersonation of a lot of people around here)

True. But it does also illustrate the Democrats have a problem as a national party. They keep nominating liberal candidates. Unless that changes, they can't carry the Southwest. Ken Salazar is a conservative Democrat by national standards. The real question is whether the Michael Moore Left would let go of its death grip on the party to allow it to become competitive in Red America.

I'm not so sure about that. Over here on the western slope we lost our CO house seat to a Dem, too. The reason: our candidate ( Shari Bjorkland) was considered TOO conservative. A lot of Republicans wouldn't vote for her.

I'm not sure what to make of our losses in the local races here in CO; except that we lost big. I hope TABOR stands.
