All this immigration is causing problems. Why, why, why do our Republican leaders tolerate it?

It looks to me like Senator Salazar could be the VP candidate on the Dem ticket nest time.

Richardson must have some skeletons in his closet if he didn't get picked by either Gore or Kerry, unless it was just that the personal chemistry wasn't right. If he runs, Monica should be willing to make speeches for him--after all, he tried to help her get a job.

Fox & Friends Weekend this morning ran a clip from David Letterman when he was musing that autumn is "the time of year when all the states turn red."

Actually the vote count in PA is closer than OH. Kerry currently leads Bush by 127,000 votes in PA while Bush leads Kerry by 136,000 in OH.

The one positive for the RATs out of this election was their competitiveness in the Southwest. Demographic trends will make it increasingly tough for the GOP to win there.

On the other hand, we were highly competitive in the Upper Midwest. Outside of Illinois, we had a real chance to win every Midwestern state. If we can continue to attract white Catholic votes in the Midwest, we won't need the Southwest to win.

So the Democrats think they can win next time by taking states like Colorado, Nevada, and New Mexico. Never mind that President Bush made significant inroads in the upper midwest in states like Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Michigan for a Republican, and also he come close in Pennsylvania. Before the Dems start thinking about expanding their base they might want to defend some of their usual strongholds in the midwest and parts of the northeast because those are areas of growing GOP support.

No, no, no, Southwest CANADA is ideal, close enough for them to Seattle that they can go down there and whine about how boring Canada is occasionally, and far enough north that they won't bother us any more.

It's more because of illegal aliens from Mexico and absentee ballots...

Agreed! What an insult to the American people that smoke and mirrors, not truth of character and belief, is enough to win them over.

All the Democrats are Metrosexuals, it's as simple as that.

People in Red Counties and States are not gonna vote for somebody that, intelectually, is a little light in his loafers.

This just shows how delusional they really are by thinking if you dress a sheep in wolves clothing it will convince the voters. It's moral, standards, ethics, etc., not "let's pretend".

Well --- it worked for Clinton. I think one of Kerry's problems is that he was actually too honest. He came right out and admitted he would put the USA under control of the UN -- world government and that the taxpayers would be forced to pay for abortions. Clinton was a little slicker --- he intended to do the same but was a liar.

this is the Dems electoral plan for 2008 - all the Kerry states (252) + NM,NV,AZ (with Richardson on the ticket) gives 19 more, 271 total.

take it to the bank, that is their strategy. not that it will be successful mind you, but to deny them this, we need to take away WISC or MINN.

One thing I think helped a lot was that in some areas there was a real effort to prevent fraud. I was actually very surprised on election day to go to the precinct I'm in and find very short lines and the election workers requiring a blue voter's registration card and drivers license. For the first time ever, I was asked to sign my voter's card and the signature was compared with my drivers license. People who were not in the book and not registered were sent away to their own precinct or told they weren't registered. I've never seen any effort before like that -- not even close. Before anyone was being allowed to vote.

Thank the Lord, but we may not avoid the bullet next time. We MUST have LEGAL reforms in place across the country by 2008, if not 2006.

Well, looks like they are going to run Ann Richards from Texas in 2008 then.

They won't take ARizona. NM and NV are more disconcerting.

AZ has a Dem governor, and CO just elected a Dem Hispanic in a statewide race. the Dems haven't lost sight of this for 2008.

Nominating a novice like Coors was a mistake. Schaffer would have beaten Salazar.
