The "Why I voted for Bush and why I am not stupid thread."

I have homosexual friends.

My kids have homosexual teachers.

On my street are many homosexual couples with children.

I am a lifelong Southerner.

I own guns.

I like country music, opera and Bruce Hornsby and the Range.

I love dry red wine. I also love beer. I also love single malt scotch.

I have a college degree from a very liberal urban school.

I prefer veal to hamburger, pork tenderloin to hot dogs.

I love the Waffle House.

I can do the New York Times crossword puzzle in fifteen minutes.

I understand derivatives.

I trade futures.

I am one of those stupid, ignorant Southerners who voted for Bush.

Thanks...and I appreciate your frankness.

So have you EVER had a natural physical romantic urge towards a female?

They call themselves liberals only as long as you bow to their agenda and kiss their A___s.

Exactly. That's the most offensive thing about the Left. They only see compromise if you abandon everything and universally agree with them on abortion, gun control, gays rights, taxation, welfare, immigration, soft bigotry of education, a weak military, separation of church & state if it means amoral nihilism rather than campaigning for their candidates... and the list goes one. They're doing exactly what they claim the actual big-tented Republicans are doing. The modern Democrats are militant litmus test authoritarians.

I hadn't seen that info. How about eight of eight counties in Ohio which had unemployment at 9% or more (highest is 15.8%!) voting for Bush 57 vs 43.

I'm sure that went over at Kerry HQ like a lead ballon.

My IQ is tested over 140.

I graduated with honors at all levels of study.

I am in the top 2% of wage earners.

I have created from scratch 2 companies.

I have read Chomsky and understand everything he says and reject it completely as mindless drivel.

I have read Marx and understood it all and reject it as drivel.

I send my child to Catholic Private School because I understand that Public Schools are the same as Public Defenders. Everyone understands and accepts that public defenders are not nearly the calibre or ability as private sector attorneys on average.. yet the left continues to believe that with enough money somehow Public Schools will be somehow not the equivlanet of the public defender.

That's enough for now...

What is this? true confessions of Bush Voters.OK here's mine;

I would never be recognized as a typical evangelical "right winger"
I am a disabled Vet,a stay home dad and a life long biker with tatoos, longer hair than my wife and an ear ring.I can tear down and reassemble a computer faster than most people can do the NYT crossword puzzle.I love Jesus but haven't seen the inside of a church since the last funeral or was it a wedding I went to, same difference.I'm definitely not a genius but it doesn't take a genius to recognize Kerry as a traitor and a life long pacifist who would be a disaster for a nation at war.

Oh, I just thought it was something along the lines of "misunderestimated" or such.

I see someone already got you for the "cupla".

Agnostic. Never fired a gun, driven a truck, or got maudlin listening to George Straight. Red wine not beer. Travel regularly. Speak a bunch of languages and can order dinner in half a dozen others. Divorced. Wife's a HS dropout who built a multi-million dollar business and looks like Susan Lucci, except cuter. Oppose abortion but can't see the point in banning it because, like drugs, demand is such that the ban would only sow corruption in those charged with enforcing it. Some of my best friends are gay. My two best buddies, one's a Jew and the other is a Muslim from Turkey. We own a boat together to get away from our wives. All three of us are immigrants, and what America has given all of us is beyond anything our ambitious imaginations could have conceived when we came here.

We all voted for Bush.

I'm also Southern and I also voted for Bush. However, I don't share your tolerance for homosexuals. I don't hate them. I just make it a point to not associate with them. I have no gay friends and I damned sure don't have any teaching my children. I see homosexuality as an abomination. People can call me what they will, but that's my honest feelings on the matter.

I possess an English degree from a very well-respected private university. I minored in Russian; I am currently studying Latin.

I don't like to waste time. I have two children, and therefore must be well-organized to raise them in the way they should go while still having time to maintain my home, cook, study, write, and knit.

I loathe most rock music, rap and hip-hop. I seldom watch television. I own copies of "M", "Picnic at Hanging Rock", "Last Year at Marienbad", "Citizen Kane", countless other films, and possess a library of over 10,000 volumes. Next to my children, my books are my most valuable possessions (not that my children are possessions, of course...)

I was a registered Democrat from 1984 until 2002. The Party lost me during the Clinton administration, but I didn't change my registration to Republican until after the turn of the century because I kept hoping that the Clinton disaster was an anomaly.

It wasn't. The Democratic Party's acceptance of the likes of Michael Moore, George Soros and Al Franken have lost this voter forever.

The Democratic Party will continue to lose voters until it purges itself of these far-left extremists.

We are at war now, and other threats loom large. The President understands this war, and is drawing a hard line. Our enemies fear him. The President understands the importance of the Second Amendment, and the whole Constitution, and will protect our rights. The President will never "go along to get along" with Europeans or anyone else. The President is the better man, the more honest and the more spiritually humble.

Mr. Kerry would have initiated a sea change in American foreign policy, a strategy of disengagement and retreat. Mr. Kerry disrespected our loyal allies in this war, particularly Poland and Italy. It is no coincidence that these are nations where the people there have very strong Christian values. Kerry supporters are always bashing Christianity -- just listen to Air America for about fifteen minutes. At home, Mr. Kerry would have infringed our Second Amendment rights, appointed left-wing radicals to positions of power, and pushed for amnesty for illegals.

I am not stupid because I do indeed have 21 full years of formal education to my credit, including two postgraduate degrees, which I have to apply to real-world conditions in order to survive. I know only that I don't really know anything. I have travelled all over this country, and know a lot of different kinds of people. I know how to question my own thinking, and I do use reason to question approximately everything. I read news from sources all over the world on a daily basis, and carefully evaluate the sources and information therein.

I am proud to be a FReeper and be in the company of some pretty damn impressive people.

I have a BS and a Ph.D from MIT, both in Physics.

I can do Cauchy integrals

I work in non proliferation and counter terrorism

I served in the Marine Corps reserve and was a platoon commander in the first Gulf War.

I have three beautiful children and they are all smarter and better than I.

I go to church.

My daughter spends her spring breaks building houses in Mexico with our church.

I voted for George Bush, and proud of it.

I found a letter I wrote in rebuttal to a liberal friend of one of my daughters. A relevant excerpt follows:

Moreover, I was one of those people who got sent over to meddle in foreign affairs. But, they didn't even try to make it sound noble like "supposedly saving lives". I was sent over to fight for oil. The liberals were quite willing to trade my blood for their oil. I had the chance to get out--I was well past serving my contract, but that would mean that someone else would go in my place. So, it would be his blood for my oil. But only a Clinton supporter would do that. I decided to fight for my own goddamn oil. So, there I was, the typical, exploitive, robber baron Republican, living in a hole in the desert, eating MREs, and showering out of a canteen cup, while the compassionate liberals were driving their BMW's at home.
But, I'm sure they felt my pain.
