80% of Americans say NO to blanket amnesty for illegal aliens.

Who's more likely to vote for conservative values in California? Mexicans or the liberals of the Bay Area and Hollywoodland?

Is Bush insane? Why would he want to add millions of new voters to the rolls who are members of a group that still vote overwhelmingly socialist? Unbelievable.

"Tell a big lie and tell it often enough and people will believe it" -- Joseph Goebbels

Where did Bush "Call For Illegal Alien Amnesty"? He didn't.

This whole article is based on a lie.

I'd be curious to know how many of us here have lost jobs to illegal aliens. Anybody?

The article is a flat-out lie, but FReepers will surely lose their minds anyway. Sigh.

Please provide the quote, with a link, where Bush said he would grant amnesty.

Isn't FAIR one of the racist organizations? They say they're just against immigration but have funding, etc ties to leftist and racist groups?

Can't say that I did not know this was going to happen because I posted here on FR that it would. And I don't think there will be any stoping it now. It was not like we had a choice. Kerry would have done the same thing...And so much more evil.
This decision comes from higher up than US presidents.

The article is a lie.

(Like so, so many other articles about this president.) You would think that Freepers would have the good sense not to just blindly trust this type of garbage.

What a biased article!

Immigration reform was proposed by President Bush a year ago, nothing new here.

What "FAIR" calls amnesty, the rest of us call it immigration reform.

If I recall correctly, we have always had semi-open borders with Mexico. We had very few border checkpoints until the 1920s.

Then when we clamped down on immigration from Europe, Mexicans were exempted from those quotas.

Later when Mexicans were subjected to the quota system if they wanted to relocate as US permanent residents, they were given a break with the 'bracero' program.

The current mess at our border is the result of an insane border policy. As long as American businesses need unskilled labor, Mexicans will cross the border.

We either do it legally with a temporary workers' program, or we do it illegally by keeping the status quo. Capitalism always beats unreasonable government constraints.

The Mexican paradox is that when Mexicans are allowed to work as guest workers, they tend to leave their families and Mexico and return after making enough money to be middle class in Mexico.

When Mexicans are not allowed to have a temporary legal status in the US, they tend to stay and bring their families, artificially increasing the Mexican migration to the US. Such artificial and unnatural increase leads to a lot of economic and social problems in our border areas and large cities.

I hope rational folks will deal with this issue calmly, looking for a solution that it's best for our country, instead of getting emotionally entangled in intractable demands. Our historical ties to Mexico and our traditional border movements will have to be considered to make any new reform useful.

Stein is hysterical. This is not an amnesty, and never was.

It wasn't quite "Read my lips," but in the last presidential debate in Arizona, George W. Bush clearly stated that he would not support amnesty for illegal aliens...

I don't think he's about "blanket amnesty."

The only thing more disgusting than listening to liberal hysteria is listening to conserative hysteria.

People who base their decisions on what they hear in the media deserve to be in a state of panic.
