The source for this video is the Ivory Coast's Embassy website http://radioci.embaci.com (it claims to be anyway) which is the group in power in the Ivory Coast that is against French/UN being involved in peacekeeping to end the civil war there. I still have not heard from the poster of this video BigRedState - how did he come across this video - does he visit French African websites a lot?

it is my contention that the two videos were spliced to suggest the French carried out a massacre. It is my contention that this is propaganda designed to garner grass roots support amongst the Americans on the side of the ruling president. The poster of this thread BigRedState just joined FR last week.

i do see injuries in the tapes, but it seems like if there was a massacre you would see blood everywhere. imho, there seems to be too many people shot, and no blood. now, there are some significant wounds and some wounds you can tell are bullet wounds, but if you say 200 injured and 60 wounded, i would expect to see something more. am i talking out of my ass? does anyone else agree with me?

thats a good point too, i dont think you see any smoke coming from the french guns. wouldnt the video show smoke after all those rounds went off? in the first video i noticed that there were people running past the barriers (between the barriers and the barbed wire where the french are) right before the shooting starts.

I don't want to look at the video bot I have been to the Ivory Coast web site and there is as I said a time line that describes the events of that weekend ,nov.5-6. These events are noy ih question, the French did destroy whatever air force Ivory Coast had. It is also not disputed that they opened fire on civilians that were charging the presidential palace. Whether the video truly reflects these events or have been doctored I cannot say. But as to the events themselves they are not in dispute, they were reported that week end by all usual sources. AP AFP etc.
There is also a french forum that discusses the video, and they seem to believe its accuracy.
The destruction of the Ivory Coast air force was prompted by the death of 8 french soldiers-peace keepers when they were caught in a bombing raid conducted by the government of Ivory Coast on rebel postions. The government is christian, the rebels are muslims.

Not saying it is you - only you visit that website - a site only Ivorians would visit - and immigrant communities tend to cluster around together so you living in the same state as the website owner is no stretch. Again I ask - how did you stumble on a French-African website?
