Fourth In Line For Presidency: `Aunt Jemima'?
Tampa Tribune ^ | Dec. 5, 2004 | JOSEPH H. BROWN

Posted on 12/05/2004 7:12:26 PM PST by conservativecorner

I magine this if you can: A white radio host calls Oprah Winfrey an ``Aunt Jemima'' during a broadcast. He later apologizes - to Aunt Jemima, not to Winfrey. You know what would follow. Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and the NAACP would demand he be fired or at least suspended for such racially insensitive comments. Boycotts would be threatened, and demonstrators would mass outside the radio station.

In fact, a talk show host in Madison, Wis., made the Aunt Jemima comment a few weeks ago, but the target was secretary of state nominee Condoleezza Rice. The ``usual suspects'' to protest discrimination have been mostly silent, which speaks volumes.

By the way, the Madison host received no reprimand for his comments, but in late October, a conservative host at WISN in nearby Milwaukee was suspended for a week for calling an illegal Mexican immigrant a ``wetback.'' Think there might be a double standard?

Cartoonists Skewer Condi

Sadly, this was hardly the first time Rice has been disrespected by white liberals who don't think she conforms to their stereotypes of how black people should think and act. Over the past year cartoonists have been using Dr. Rice's race as a point of ridicule.

There have been demeaning cartoons by syndicated cartoonists Pat Oliphant and Jeff Danziger accentuating Dr. Rice's black features and depicting her speaking in rural Southern dialect. Oliphant drew Rice as a parrot with thick protruding lips and buck teeth, repeating President Bush's words. Cartoonist Ted Rall questioned Rice's race by suggesting she was President Bush's ``house nigga'' who needed to attend an ``inner city racial re-education camp.'' Garry Trudeau (shock!) called her ``Brown Sugar'' in his ``Doonesbury'' comic strip.

So where did these white liberals get the green light to call blacks like Rice such names? From black liberals, of course.

It all began a few years ago when entertainer Harry Belafonte called Colin Powell and Rice ``house slaves,'' suggesting that they had turned their backs on black people and black issues by virtue of being close to President Bush. Also, cartoonist Aaron McGruder's victim- focused comic strip ``The Boondocks'' has portrayed Rice as a spinster who takes out her personal frustrations by launching carpet-bombing attacks on Iraq.

Rice has credentials that parallel those of former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger. It's bad enough that whites treat her as unworthy to be fourth in line for presidential succession. She also gets no respect from blacks.

Celebrate Our Diversity

Funny thing is these Rice-haters are some of the same people who demand that Americans celebrate our nation's diversity. They are extremely intolerant of someone who dares to hold different political and ideological beliefs.

History may well be a harsh judge of the role Rice played in this war in Iraq. Fine, but we should remember, as Michelle D. Bernard, senior vice president of the Independent Women's Forum, said last month:

``The most powerful woman in the United States is young, gifted and black. Given our nation's history of race-based slavery, the ensuing civil rights movement and our continual battle against race- and sex-based discrimination, every citizen in our nation should take pride in Dr. Rice's accomplishments. She is a representation of America's past and future all at once. One must ask where is the outrage [over the racist cartoons] of the nation's civil rights leadership, feminist organizations, and the so-called liberals who only seem to embrace black America in election years?''

Again, their silence says it all. Joseph H. Brown is a Tribune editorial writer.

The hypocrisy is amazing. Lott was forced to step down as majority leader not because he said anything racist, but because he congratulated a man other people considered to be racist. Yet time after time we see the rats given a free ride for their racism. It really has me wondering if their is any kind of behavoir that would exclude a rat from office as long as he continues to repeat the libereral ideology. rat voters in MS think it's fine to screw campaign workers, drive drunk, and manslaughter. rat voters in VA like KKK members, and drunks. Is there any crime Clinton didn't comit in office? Why don't the rats and many moderates care about behavoir?

Y'know, Anne Holt has been doing the news now since I was a kid (I'm 30 now), and I swear she looks like she hasn't aged a day in all those years. Either Ms. Holt was 18 when they hired her (and even at that, she STILL shouldn't look that young !), or she sacrifices small animals and children in a ceremony to keep her looking so good and youthful.

Why don't the rats and many moderates care about behavior?

As has been said many times by Bill Bennett, for example, Republicans (conservatives) are guided by principals.

Democrats are driven by politics. There are NOT constrained by morals. They only want one thing and that is victory. They do NOT care how they get there.

So do NOT think that your enemy (liberals) is going to act morally. If you insist on continuously making that mistake then you are going to loose your head. They will cut it off.

Back in 1978 Channel 2 sent their newest reporter to Tennessee Preparatory School to investigate charges of mistreatment. Sixteen year old NRT told her how the state wasn't minding their foster kids' welfare very well and we had no other avenue to coerce improvements. Her reporting coerced those needed improvements and insured our budget remained out of the grasp of some legislators who looked to cut it (kicking kids while they're down - how noble). Though she's probably a Democrat I'll never forget how her proactive journalism once thwarted a real evil.

BTW, she looked the same then while I now appear older than her (and everyone thinks I'm still in my 30s). Reckon she's got a connection for the legendary Sulfer Dell water?

"The TV debates between Condi and the witch from NY would be priceless"

What "debates"? More a tongue lashing I will bet. Hitlery will come armed with a knife and Condi with a shotgun, if not a grenade launcher.

Where is Dr Rice not from?:
Born and raised in the South.
College degrees in CO.
PhD in IN.
College Provost on the Left Coast.

And Hitlery has to offer?:
A masters degree with a "secret" thesis.
A coattail rider from AR.
A carpetbagger in NY.

I dare say, it would be worse an episode than John O'Neill v. Ted Koppel and infinitely more fun to watch... :)

I'm all for Condi in '08. Who do we want as #2 on the ticket?

Oh, yeah, she will be in the line of succession. No problem. In fact, the bench is strong all the way down the line.

The comment was made by John Sylvester on WTDY, "Madison's Progressive Talk" aka the lowest rated radio station in town. Even Err America has better ratings. He's a college dropout buddy of Russ Feingold who couldn't carry Dr. Rice's lunchpail.

The "Aunt" would be 100% better president than "Her Lovely Legs Hillary".

Black conservative ping

If you want on (or off) of my black conservative ping list, please let me know via FREEPmail. (And no, you don't have to be black to be on the list!)

Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.

Where are Rush and Hannity on the Aunt Jemima comment?

They've been very vocal on that note; not only that, Hannity had the moron on "Hannity & Colmes" the week it happened.

Sounds like there's no need for a letter-writing campaign. Let them stay at the bottom of the ratings list.

When I recently moved into a new house, I was meeting the neighbor and talking over the back fence when my cat walked by.

"What's your cat's name?" She asked.

Now I already knew that my neighbor was a lib -- campaign signs for every democratic candidate including Kerry in her front yard. So when I told my neighbor that my cat's name, she said "Oh!", making it into three syllables, rising in the middle.
"Oh-h'-h!"

My cat, who is mostly black, is named Condolezza.

I am delighted that Dr. Rice is in the administration. She has all sorts of qualifications -- She's young, smart, good-looking, black, and double Y chromosomes. And I'd vote for her for POTUS.

But there is this --- Have you heard her speak?
I won't say, think Alan Greenspan, it's not that bad, but it may be in the same category.

I just wonder what sort of a campaigner Rice would be.
