Looks like the only thing they got right was the keyboard. The giant wheels were part of a valve to help shut down the amount spam going into your mail box. This things looks something from Ming the Merciless's laboratory. Calling Dr. Zarkov!

I just used a Fortan 95 compiler for a program this year. Fortran isn't quite dead yet. :-)

I use Matrox Parhelia's.
Primarily for their compatibility with Autodesk Inventor.
Rock stable.

Basically, I wish mine had steering wheels like that. I do have an old Radio City voltmeter from the 50's that uses the same shape for it's dial as those in the pic. Still works, too.

Fortran easy to use? Ugh.Better than Assembler.
Worse yet, the very early PDP11s had 16 toggle switches to program at the 16-bit register level.
Old Star Trek episodes used them because the indicator lights above the switches would blink as each instruction was executed. Flashing lights preceded spinning tape drives to let the viewer know it was a computer.

Wow! Check this out! RAND scientists have come up with a "home computer" that we, the ordinary citizenry, may possess and operate. I'm really impressed by its compact size and the claims of easy operability. The only thing I would change would be to put to replace the large double steering wheel with a smaller one from a Chevy lowrider.
