I see a lot of positive potential in this development: first, it is not stated when the text alteration took place (hopefully, very early, so the whole islamic history and theology are compromised); second, it leaves open the possibility of multiple episodes of omissions and alterations. Thus, every existing Koran is corrupted and ought to be discarded immediately. A little war of religion to settle the dispute about whose text is the least corrupt is in order.

I confess that I've glanced at parts of the Quran but have not tried to read it.I can recall only two books that I've picked up, read about halfway and dropped in the garbage: Mein Kampf and the Quran.
Their basically the same, really.
Mein Kampf I tossed in my garbage can but the Quran I actually walked out to the alley and threw in a bin.
I've collected and read a good many religious cornerstone texts - ranging from the Bible to the Avesta of Zarathustra - and in the context of notions of good and evil that are held commonly amongst the worlds great religions, the Quran is simply anti-religion.
