Prayer Request for Marines [update and photo posted]

Prayers are requested for my nephew, Jeff. Jeff, a Corporal in the Marines, was involved in a mortar attack on his humvee in Iraq. Doctors had to take a vein from his back to save his leg. He's had plastic surgery on one of his feet and he almost lost his nose. He is having flashbacks of seeing his buddies around him in the vehicle getting killed. He is on about 30 different meds. This was his second tour to Iraq since joining the Marines in September of 2002.

Bob, this is John. First of all, I want you to know how touched I am by all the people that have Jeff in their prayers and thoughts. I think it's a wonderful thing you've done here. Thank you very much. The extent of the injuries Jeff has suffered aren't quite accurate though. Yes, the docs did remove some lat muscles to replace missing muscle in his foot and some skin from his thighs to cover areas skin was missing from. There was no vein replacement and only his tibia was broken. All his bones are healed and it was only his foot that was in jeopardy, not his leg. He's not on 30 medications and he's not hallucinating. Jeff is in very good spirits and he's walking on crutches. The docs say his foot is coming along great and he may start putting weight on it soon. You can let everyone know that their prayers helped my son greatly and I am very thankful to all of you for being so supportive. God bless all of them.

Hey Uncle Bob it's CJ. I just found this thing about Jeff. It is really cool to see that so many people care about about Jeff. I haven't seen Jeff since he got married last June but I am still hopeing that things will work out sooner or later. Well take care and I'll talk to you later.
