Reid Urges Bush to Disavow GOP Criticism
AP | Mon Feb 7

Posted on 02/07/2005 4:54:31 PM PST by dandi

WASHINGTON - Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid on Monday urged President Bush (news - web sites) to stop the Republican National Committee (news - web sites) from calling him an obstructionist and criticizing his Senate record, a tactic the GOP used to help defeat Reid's predecessor.

Bush repeatedly has said he wants work with Democrats, most recently during his State of the Union speech last week, Reid noted in a speech on the Senate floor.

"Why didn't he stand and tell the American people last Wednesday that one of the first items of business we were going to do in Washington is send out a hit piece on the Democratic leader?" Reid said.

The Republican committee plans to send a 13-page document to more than a million people — including in Reid's home state of Nevada — analyzing and criticizing his votes and stances before he officially took over as Senate Democratic leader in January.

Just like Reid has disavowed the criticism from Kennedy, Pelosi, Byrd, Kerry, and others? And Howie Dean and his hate Republicans rant? Crybaby.

Is this how he plans to cooperate with Bush?

Inaugural run-in for Reid aide
The Hill ^

An aide to Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) was arrested on the West Front of the Capitol for disorderly conduct during President Bush’s inaugural address last week.

The aide, Nathan Ackerman, is a television producer on the Senate Democratic Communications Committee — an organization that was folded into Reid’s new communications “war room.” About 20 minutes into Bush’s speech, Ackerman, 36, and another man held up a sheet that said “No War.” According to a Capitol Police report, Ackerman and another suspect “were blocking the view of the audience and they were engaged in a verbal dispute with members of the audience.”

The report states that Capitol Police officers told Ackerman and the other suspect to relinquish the sign or be arrested but that “neither complied and both were placed under arrest.” The report did not name either suspect, although Ackerman’s identity was confirmed with the Capitol Police.

Welcome to the bigs, Harry.

Part of the Senate Minority Leader's job is to be the focus of the attacks from the other side of the aisle. That comes with the power and the perks of the job.

Oh, but that's right, you don't have any real power. You're just a martinet of the locoweed left in your party. I'll bet Pelosi, Kennedy, Dean and the rest of them didn't tell you that even though your lips move only to the script prepared for you by MoveOn.org, you still get to catch all the spears.

Sure must suck to be you.

Of course Reid is a liar. He's been one since he first got into the Senate. (He was almost certainly a liar before he got to the Senate.) He's whining about having the truth of his own past shoved in his face. Poor baby.

Did he really do this today? I have never laughed so hard in my life. The DNC logo with the crying baby in the middle has just been solidified. Reid, who sat silent while his colleagues on the left side of the aisle, slandered the President, Dr. Rice and Judge Gonzales? This Reid is now complaining that someone is identifying him as the obstructionist he is? HAHAHAH HOHOHOHOH HEHEHEHE

Reid reminds me of Missouri Governor OTB (One Term Bob) who was just replaced by Matt Blunt.

What a weenie.

He's still mad about that guy telling Bush that Reid was "divorced from reality"

No, it was Vader, in ESB, I think. The last guy thinks he's going to be choked and Vader walks off, distracted.

"He's still mad about that guy telling Bush that Reid was "divorced from reality""
As long as the reality does not demand alimony and child support, Reid should consider himself lucky.
