This is unbelievable. I didn't vote for this kind of nonsense.

I absolutely don't get it. If a democrat were pulling this stunt we'd all be screaming at the top of our lungs.

I love Bush but I am NOT happy with this decision, why can't he connect the dots?

Cutting manpower doesn't mean they'll be any less effective at keeping our borders secure. One man with the right equipment can do more than 30 guys out there on foot.
It sucks that they have to make these cuts but it'll suck even more if they don't pass some sort of immigration control bill that has more bite than bark.

If he had done this before November, we might be complaining about President Kerry. What is this man's blind spot about immigration?

What is President Bush doing? I just don't understand his agenda any longer, what is the driving force for all this nonsense?

Not completely discounting this report yet, but is it possible that the San Francisco Chronicle has a disinformation agenda just to get you folks upset with the President? It wouldn't be the first such instance.

I really don't understand Bush's mentality on immigration.
Unacceptable.

We can spend
$2.2 BILLION dollars this year for our UN contribution, but we can't protect our borders.
Welcome to the New World Order.

Bush budget scraps 9,790 border patrol agents Actually, the budget increases funding to support an additional 210 border patrol agents. As with all government programs, this "cut" is based on a projected future level, not an actual current level.

I THINK THIS IS A GREAT IDEA! PROVE TO ME IT'S NOT! Early April Fools. :)
To: redhawk
The reasoning is that, if it passes, Bush's amnesty plan (which, by the way, isn't an amnesty -- in the same way that "is" no longer means "is", and "alone" no longer means "alone"), will be so successful in solving the illegal immigration problem, that we'll no longer need a Border Patrol.
Well, that's the reasoning as I see it. I think it's nuts, but that's the reasoning.
