Word have meaning, in usage, and a definition, in the dictionary, we have been given the grace to define the meaning of liberal, progressive, and other socialist word games since Ronnie.

I was Youth for Goldwater, it is nice to see the shoe on the other foot, socialist scum.

and the reality is being a conservative has been considered a dirty word for decades, especially in Canada but you are right as a conservative in Canada I did not hide then nor will I hide now

the pendulum has swung so far in favour of the liberals that it is only naturally that the pendulum finally is swinging the other direction

and it will finally end up back in the middle I suppose

Being termed a liberal is terrifying

Being a liberal is even more terrifying.

"Watching the liberals in Washington is like watching a bad horror movie. Just when you think the monster is vanquished ... gone for good ... it jumps from the shadows for yet another attack," writes billionaire Steve Forbes, who goes on to say that liberals lie, attack and distort.

Forbes left out "whine." Liberals lie, attack, distort and whine.

The entire article sounds like an application of Lenin's "One Step Forward, Two Steps Back" strategy, while focusing entirely on superficial appearances and tip toeing past the real substance of American politics today. Lets give the self describing "Conservatives" nothing more than a feel good measure, as we organize our next victory. They won't know the difference. Heck, they'll call it a victory.

Not one of the many socialist policy advanced by the phony Liberals over the past decades has been significantly threatened, let alone reversed. And now we have "compassionate conservatism" not only defending such policies, but finding new ways to advance them. Its funny how these pseudo Liberals can cry about their losses, when their position has never been stronger.

If I were one of them, I'd be celebrating my new found opportunity to safely vacation from real politics, and get back to some recreational youthful grass roots organizing, where the real fun is. Of course I'd be putting on a depressed face and crying foul. Come to think of it, that is exactly what they are doing.

Coulter's book is a great read.

If you can not afford to buy it, at least go to the bookstore and read her 'ten rules' starting on page 9. It is likely to change the way you talk to liberals for the rest of your life.

When the foremost "populist" is Pat Buchanan, the conservative movement has nothing to fear from any attempt to coopt that word.

Of course you are right on target as to the strengths and weaknesses of the current American Mainstream Media. While I do not consider them a Party, I do identify with the feeling that the Democratic Party is the Mainstream Media Party. What's more I also find as you do, it to be quite humorous seeing the socialist political hacks in Congress and the Mainstream Media abandoning their status as "liberals" as they now try squeezing into a conservative obstructionist's hat, while trying to hold their booty filled pocketed pants up.

But I say that's all an act. I say that they no more see privatization as a threat, than the so-called compassionate conservatives see social security needing a fix. Of course the socialists do not want the privatization banner to wave high in any victory. But they are not worried about any loss of territory if it does, as they realize that such a victory will strengthen Social Security beyond anything they could hope for, there by making it appear almost impregnable against future attack.

What is not talked about is the new enormous socialist inroads into the economy that Privatization will open. Lenin had it right, "communism will be built with non-communist hands."

"Being termed a liberal is terrifying; it's terrifying." -- Phil Donahue on CBC-TV's the fifth estate, January 26, 2005

"... although nowhere nearly as gut-wrenching an experience as seeing Marlo nekked nowadays," the greying, effeminate former leftist icon was heard to murmur sotto voce, moments later. :)

When I hear the word liberal it makes me think of a certain type of person. It's always an anti American scumbag who repeats lines of garbage that were fed to him all throughout college by some loser who had to become a professor when he couldn't hack it in the real world. They are the cardboard rebels of the world who risk nothing with their asinine behavior.

My daughter bought "How To Talk To A Liberal" as one of my Christmas gifts. She has a good head on her already, as a 19 yr old. Last year, she bought "Shut Up And Sing" as my gift.
