I think they meant, no one knows if the Judge will decide for or against the Schindlers. Tom Delay was asked by a reporter yesterday, well, why would a Federal Judge rule differently from the State Judge. Delay answered that there was no way to know how they will rule. I think he started answering by saying, "We don't know". Sound familiar? But really, the bill is specific as to the case being de novo. And the leaders swore that the Judge will not negligently allow the subject to die while their case is underway. Exactly the same as an execution would not be allowed during a Habeas Corpus hearing in Federal court to determine if a convicted murderer should be put to death per a State court ruling.

You misunderstood what Delay meant by that. I assure you this is going to a Federal Judge PRONTO. And his decisions will decide the case, ultimately. I know what Delay meant. It was confusing, however, and was clarified very soon thereafter by Senators Rick Santorum and Mel Martinez. Sorry you gave up.
Liberalism can make people blind to the truth of what's in front of them. I know one person who, when confronted with proof that the Killian memos could not have been printed in 1972, said maybe he keyed it into a computer file and it was recently reprinted. Technically conceivable, I guess, but I really can't imagine anyone punching a paper tape with a memo-to-file. Storing the document would seem so much easier, and a sheet of paper has got to be more compact and useful than a couple yards of paper tape (which I think holds about 10 characters per inch on a 1" wide tape).
Wouldn't it be faster to put in an IV until she can be taken to a REAL hospital?

If the pro-death people wanted to dismiss Michael's statement as an innocent slip of the tongue, that might have some plausibility, but the explanation they use instead is simply bizarre.

The congress needs to be involved because this is a human rights, constitutional, criminal and corruption issue. De Novo federal review is needed although the Congress will be failing Terri to have federal review in a circuit court if it has to go to Tampa. Judge Lazarra is prejudiced against Terri schiavo living. In regards to Judge Greer he is not a legal judge, did not file a valid oath of office, and other paperwork in a timely fashion, etc., should not have been on the ballot and is involved with other attorney's in regards to fleecing the disabled and elderly. The attorney's and judge are in cahoots with the Hospice of the Florida Suncoast. Inc.
I did the research and michael schiavo is responsible for denying Terris voice and
substiting his own .. she has been denied rehab to speak. She is trying to say she
wants to live. They should teach her to say DIVORCE.

Unlawfulness, Not Emotion Key Issue in Schiavo Case
It’s important for America to understand that Congress must get involved in the Terri Schindler-Schiavo situation. Yes, this is an emotional case, and yes there are questions about the right to die, but at the heart of the issue are the mass violations of laws that have been broken to bring the case this far--as far as Washington.
1. The judge is not in office legally. He violated Florida Statutes by not qualifying for office and thus could not legally appear on the ballot and was not legally elected. Therefore, he has no legal jurisdiction in the Schiavo case or any other judicial matter.
2. The judge based his death ruling on inadmissible hearsay which is barred by Florida Statutes.
Michael Schiavo ONLY “remembered” what Terri supposedly said AFTER the malpractice money was given to him. money that was to be for her care and therapy which he then refused her. Instead, Judge Greer allowed Terri’s rehabilitation money to be used for Michael’ to pay lawyers to kill her by removing her feeding tube.
3. Judge Greer is acting in the statutorily prohibited and ethically prohibited dual role of judge and guardian
4. Judge Greer never seen his ward which is yet another violation of the Florida Statutes.
5. Judge Greer has denied Terri independent legal counsel, a violation of Florida Statutes and denial of the Due Process Clause and Equal Protection Clause of the U.S. Constitution.
6. Judge Greer has allowed Michael to unlawfully place Terri in a Hospice and engage in a Medicare and Medicaid fraud. She is not terminal and the "certification" presented was not done lawfully.
People must separate the emotion from the laws that were broken. Even if one is an advocate of the right to die, it must done within the confines of law –such was not the case here.

Congressman Blumenauer,
It is hard to believe that you consider yourself a conservative Republican. Your efforts to thwart this most needed Bill are unbelievable!
Terri Schindler Schiavo deserves justice and due process. It is painfully obvious to anyone with even remote intelligence, that this case goes way beyond courruption and judicial tyranny! Terri is an innocent victim!
Before spending your time and energy on trying to allow this judicial homicide, educate yourself. If you want to play the role of legislator or lawmaker, then it would certainly behoove you to know the facts! They are all out there ~ public records, depositions, medical reports, bone scans and the like.
Terri Schindler Schiavo deserves a fair trial. The painfully obvious corruption in this case goes beyond imagination. Greer, Schiavo and Felos are the "Three Amigos" and someone needs to put a stop to the travesty and afford Terri the same kind of judicial process which we allow even the most severely convicted criminals.
PLEASE check the bone scan. PLEASE check the Hospice admitting papers. PLEASE read the countless depositions of doctors, nurses, friends and family who all tell a much different story than the court has allowed to be heard. PLEASE ask yourself WHAT IS GREER/SCHIAVO/FELOS AFRAID OF?
This is not "fulfilling a last wish" as Mr. Schiavo suddenly claimed. If that were the case, why did he go against that wish for so many years before suddenly remembering an alleged passing comment? If Mr. Schiavo is concerned with his promises to his "wife" (although I use that term loosely), what happened to that ever familiar one ~ "... in sickness and in health... til death they do part?" If Mr. Schiavo says it's just to do "as Terri wanted," ask yourself where having a live-in concubine who has mothered two of Schiavo's children over the last ten years fits into "Terri's Wishes."
This is just wrong. Blatantly and painfully wrong!
This is judicial tyranny. This is judicial homicide. This is judicial corruption at it's finest. Somebody better put a stop to Greer's freight train of injustice before he derails America!

The only thing that Greer has given them is "uninterupted visitation" and that was by court order, if Schiavo wants to suspend their visits he has to go to court. They should take their court order and go see their daughter, they do not have to obey anything Michael says.

well if there is a court order cant they take their court order with them and go visit anyways? with the court order they WILL be able to get in.. they can take a sherrif with them and the papers and they will have to let them in. I hope he isnt doing this so that he can be alone with her to give her something to help move her death along :( since he is afraid this bill is going to pass tomorrow. :(

Action must be taken immediately to assure Terri's life. We must allow Terri her due process.
Now Michael Schiavo is not even allowing the comfort of her parents and siblings presence while she is being STARVED TO DEAETH!!! This is how much he "loves" his wife as he has stated as recently as 2 days ago?
There is only one human being who can really express her wishes regarding whether or not she wishes to continue being maintained with a feeding tube. That one human is TERRI SCHIAVO
herself, and she has that constitutional right to express her wishes. It is my understanding from people who have been in her room and actually experienced her level of alertness and capacity to respond that it would not be that difficult for her to learn to communicate even if it’s by a long eye blink or even a grunt.
What would it hurt to provide her that opportunity? Her estranged “husband” has had terribly conflicted interests all along from day one. He has said openly on TV that Terri really died 15 years ago. I think that is clear and convincing evidence of how little he has her interests in mind.To him, Terri is already dead. So why pull the feeding tube. Is it to get rid of certain “evidence” of abuse? I don’t know, but Terri DESERVES to have that become a known factor. Why is Michael Schiavo so determine for Terri to NOT have an autopsy and to be cremated immediately upon her death. What is he so panicked about?
The bottom line is that the real FACTS of this case need to become known and Terri is entitled to DUE PROCESS. She NEVER had her own atty or guardian ad litem. Who represented TERRI? It is not a Judge’s role to act both a Judge and simultaneously as the guardian ad litem.
What is Judge Greer’s own personal agenda? What might be HIS selective perceptions and biases? He’s a human being and human beings FILTER all information and stimuli that they are exposed to. Why is he so determined that Terri should die. Take a look at his background. Was he ever affiliated with the Hemlock Society? Are his leanings toward euthanasia as Felos is?
How much evidence did the courts of appeals get to see. Since Greer refused to admit so much evidence on behalf of Terri into the record, how can the courts of Appeal possibly render a fair and just verdict or order? They haven’t seen ALL POSSIBLE EVIDENCE!
I do not view Felos as really looking out for Michael’s best interests and he is representing him in name only. There was probably a contract retaining him. What Felos is REALLY representing is the “Right to Die” movement, the Euthanasia movement……a very slippery slope wouldn’t you say? A little too much like Hitler if you ask me.
It’s not a crime to become vulnerable, helpless, a victim of abuse, or a victim of illness.
Terri is certainly entitled to the same rights as serial killers but she’s not even getting what they get in terms of due process.
Please forgive me if I am rambling, but I am a Traumatic Brain Injury Survivor who was once in Terri’s position. But fortunately I had a loving Dad who made sure I got all the therapy I needed to recover. I am now leading a life filled with love, friendships, and I put a smile on dozens of people’s faces every time I leave my home.

EXCERPTS FROM CYNTHIA SHOOK MAY 8, 2001 DEPOSITION
Backround:
In late 1991, 1½ years after Terri's collapse, Michael Schiavo became
involved in an intimate relationship with Cindy Shook. The romance continued for approximately one year. It can be documented that the two spent a
weekend at the Don Caesar hotel in St. Petersburg Beach and they also
contacted a Century 21 Realtor on the premise of purchasing a home.
In May of 1992, at the apex of the romance, Schiavo had Terri's 2 pet cats euthanized to clear the way for his moving in with Cindy and her pet dog.
In the summer of 1992, Schiavo moved into his parent's home. We can
speculate with reasonable accuracy, it was at the instructions of his
attorney, since the living arrangement would be contrary to Schiavo's
"loving husband" image they were projecting for the upcoming November 1992 malpractice trial.
In April 2001, Cindy Shook (married name Brasher) was interviewed by an investigator working in Terri's behalf. Unwilling to come forward because of her immense fear of Schiavo, Cindy had to be subpoenaed and was then subsequently deposed on May 8, 2001 to try and learn more regarding her intimate knowledge of Michael Schiavo's character traits.
Excerpts; May 8, 2001 Deposition:
Cindy Shook describing Schiavo's possessiveness.
"he's very jealous. He stalked me at my.at where I worked after I stopped dating.when he would get mad at me he would tell me, I would rather be laying in bed in the nursing home with her than with you. I mean he can be the most incredibly mean person"
When asked if she were afraid that Michael would physically harm her or if he would harm children.
"I am concerned about retaliation because I have a child -I have children and a husband. I know him, I know what he told me I said he could be a very mean person."
She spoke of how Schiavo stalked her for close to a year after the breakup and that she received repeated phone calls.
"He came on the floor looking for me several times. I felt it was out of character for him to get a job as an orderly at the hospital That was concerning to me. When he would come up to the floor looking for her she was not scared the first time but later was scared.
In town I would look up when I was driving.not at my work- she would look up in the rear view mirror and there would be Michael Schiavo. I would look up and he would be behind me in traffic. It continued for several months after he didn't work at the hospital. She would change lanes, try to make a turn and he would do the same. He did this about ten times.
One time he was behind me in traffic he got next to me in a two-lane going the same way, and he changed lanes basically right on top of where I was at, and I had to swerve not to be hit. I had to swerve off the road. Michael ran me off the road. I considered it as stalking, dangerous and guessed potentially life threatening."
Cindy thought about getting a restraining order. She talked to an off duty police officer in her building
They discussed marriage. She said Schiavo asked what would you do if I asked you to marry me. He never discussed getting a divorce.
Cindy said Schiavo got angry when asked questions about Terri saying:
"this had destroyed his life and he was being robed of a normal life."

Judge Greer discounted the affidavit, but with what he
said in this interview- it seems to prove perjury to
me!!

Because the judge decided the death, the death of a woman well cared by her mother, a woman who wants to live and would have been able to give the life in the past, as in the future perhaps. We are talking about a woman, like the mothers who gave our lives, who fed us with their milk, the milk of life.
The death is wearing the coat on which has been written "natural".
But death is only death and nothing more. It is the fact of the absence of life. What really counts is not the nature of death, but all the means at our disposal to keep safe the live of Terri and what is done with.
She has been resisting during 15 years. What a proof of courage.
The Courage has been always admired all over the past. It is also a sign of the force of Life. Life is naturally strong because we are here today. But, the personal life is also so much fragil in front of the arbitrary power under its most various forms. So, our conscience is that we have to protect the life, moreover the life of Terri.
We saw the video images of Terri, her open eyes, her _expression.
This proof is enough to convince the entire world that Terri is living. We've got a sufficient heritage, transmitted by education, which allows us to know what has to be decided : nothing. Nothing more than to let Terri free with her mother, to let her drink, to let her eat, to let her being helped by the others, to let her free in the actual free society, like the others.
There isn't place for loosing time. Everybody has to be conscious of the occuring mistake, regarding the sense of life. The conscious mistake is our nightmare, and the risk would be it wasn't.
There's a principle : life is being nourished by the love of the others, and it respects the nature. All of us, we love life for Terri and we want her to be safe.

The point being you can't give Terri a fair trial if she is deceased. So, what Judge would be that stupid and would want to go down as Hitler like Judge Greer has become known as?

So, who all is staying up tonight late to see what happens? I plan on staying up to see when the House passes this bill and see if Foxnews will be covering the signature of the Presidant, but not sure how much later I can stay up. I want to, but I've got 2 kids on Spring Break this week and they will want mmo to get up early tomorrow and fix breakfast, LOL! My Dh thinks I'm crazy when I told him I wanted to stay up and watch the news and sit here on FR to hear updates! I say we should all stay up late, kind of like election night!
Not so, Polly. Delay just said something confusing in a press conference yesterday, but I knew what he MEANT by it, thankfully. The man was so tired he might not have known his own name! And Santorum and Martinez clarified it later. Greer will not make the ultimate decision in this case, and Delay did not mean that he would. The whole thing was just jargon and mumbo jumbo that mixed up a lot of people. It is legalese and technican word games, hairsplitting and the rest. Ignore that and watch what really happens. Greer will no longer be the AUTHORITY involved in the case...a Federal Judge will be.
