A Few Prayers for Texas Cowboy!!
The Horse's Mouth | 08-Apr-05 | Tom Eaker

Prayers for TexasCowboy!

TexasCowboy has been using his hip injury as an excuse to prevent his friends from shooting his new riot gun.

Well some of us offered to take a look at it for him and he decided both a proffesional and sober opinion might make more sense.

So he found a coupon and now he is going to let some old saw-bones cut on him.

Probably a better idea than letting us do it, but a few folks feelings are still hurt!

Please all say a prayer for our Cowboy that he is back in the saddle again real soon.

How kind of you, El Gato!
You said, "guidon bearer at the dedication of the replica Iwo Jima Memorial."

Actually, our statue on the Parade Deck at Parris Island came first, every dime of the cost paid for by MARINES.
It was the sculptor's prototype, after that doing the one in Washington, D.C.

You shoulda known the Marines are first in most things..:))

As for being resourceful, our "can do" attitude does equip us for our lifetime.

Amen and Amen to your Post, dear Lady!

No matter what the devil strewed in his path all these months - two misdiagnoses, a broken femur and the negativity from physicians in Texas, setback after setback, hindering the start of aggressive treatment - it was overcome.

Thank You, Dear Master, for Your Strength that Upholds Your child, and for Your Mercies that Surrounds him, Sustaining him with Your Love. Thank You that satan is Overcome by Your Power in Your child, and be Glorified, King Jesus, through Your servant's Testimony of Your Grace.

God is using you to show us here your steadfast walk with Him, drawing out our love for you to surround you, and to see the fruits thereof.

Amen, our Savior, we Adore You for Your Works, Offering Praise! We Implore that Every Need of Texas Cowboy will be Met; Shower him and Faith with Resourses from Your Storehouse Of Grace. Words Fail, Great King, but You Know the Cries of our Hearts. Help Your children Daily, our Father, as we Pray in His Majesty's Holy Name, amen.

Your always so eloquent prayers are very much appreciated, Miss Kitty.
Knowing TC as well as I do, I am certain he is touched and blessed by them.

In past years, we had many hours of conversation about our Lord, and what role He might have in mind for each of us.
Those are unfolding now in parallel paths, and each day of our lives are truly His to bring about.

I pray for you and your husband, asking Him to continue to bless you with good health and happiness.

Johnson County yields 'monster well'

By DAN PILLER
STAR-TELEGRAM STAFF WRITER

Johnson County may be a sweet spot for natural-gas discoveries in the Barnett Shale field of North Texas.

On the heels of an industry report that describes the area as such, EOG Resources described to investors just how sweet it is: The company brought in a "monster" south of Mansfield that came in producing 7.7 million cubic feet a day.

Barnett Shale producers Devon Energy of Oklahoma City and EOG of Houston updated their operations for investors Wednesday, with Devon touting its 2,000th well in the giant gas formation and EOG unveiling what Chairman Mark Papa described as a "monster well."

"We think we have the biggest-producing well ever in Johnson County," Papa told analysts during a conference call Wednesday. He said the well, about 3 miles south of U.S. 287 near Mansfield, was drilled in September.

Papa told of two other Johnson County wells, one producing at an initial rate of 7.5 million cubic feet per day and another at 6.1 million cubic feet per day.

Johnson County has boomed as a drilling site this year, with more than 40 drilling rigs working at a time.

A report by Pickering Energy Partners of Houston issued this week described Johnson County as a "sweet spot" for the Barnett Shale that "may be superior to the original Barnett Shale drilling area north of Fort Worth in Wise and Denton counties."

EOG has nine drilling rigs working in Johnson County and one each in Parker and Erath counties.

Devon Energy, which bought Mitchell Energy in 2001 and expanded on that company's pioneering work in the Barnett Shale northwest of Fort Worth, said it reached its 2,000-well milestone during the third quarter.

Devon President John Richels said that the company has 18 drilling rigs working in the Barnett Shale, five of them in Johnson County.

I have been thinking about you a lot lately...and of course praying like crazy.

I know as the year passes and gets close to the holidays, it can get harder and more stress filled...especially when you want so much to be well, and with your family...

I pray that you can spend a lot of the holidays with all of your family...hopefully, Logan can spend a lot of time with you....my grandchildren work a special magic with me. I can feel like something a cat dragged in...until I see my Chase or Kailey. They are like "instant energy".

They say, TC, that "Tis the season for miracles"...and I am gonna give all I have to give in the way of prayer, so that you and Faith and your family will get the healing and hope and comfort that you need.

God Bless you, Texas Cowboy, from a Texan....prayers up, for you and yours...

later

Miss Victoria has a friend who also needs your prayers. She is actually the daughter of a childhood, and now current again, friend of Miss V's mother. The little girl is a few months older than Miss V. She's currently in the ICU with a pulmonary viral inflection. She was on a ventilator for a couple of days, but AFAIK, is now only on oxygen and breathing on her own. Still, Miss V, her Mother and her Grandparents would appreciate your prayers.

In a way this little one is almost my grandchild as well. Her mother's mother did not approve of her marriage (for what I don't know) and browbeat the rest of the family into more or less shunning her. She, the baby's grandmother, even browbeat her ex husband, the baby's grandfather now, into not attending her mother's wedding. The baby's other grandparents, while very accepting and loving, are New Zealanders and so are not around to give grandparently support. If I had known that there was no one to give away the bride at the (now) mother's wedding, I would have done it myself. When I heard about it, I was mad enough to spit and cuss, which is not my normal MO.

So here's the little girl who needs your prayers.

And here is her friend Miss V, who hath a colth, (now, not when the photo was taken)

Sorry about the drool.

Checking in from beautiful sunny CA. Eaker & I spent 5.5 wonderful hours with TC, Faith and Joel yesterday.

One of us will give a full report when we get back home.

I would like to ask every one to definitely add Joel to your prayers. He has his hands full and is still a cheerful, wonderful man.

Mom---I, too, am looking forward to your report...and will add Joel to my prayers...

El Gato...my computer did not show the pics...just little red "x" in the corner...but, never fear, your "surrogate granddaughter" will get the same prayers....I just don't understand, because I do so LOVE my granddaughters with all my being, a grandparent turning their back on one of their own..(actually two of their own, counting their own daughter)...

You are a special man, EG...and I have known it for a long time...but, you continue to confirm it, with the warm and huge heart that you have!

Give Miss Victoria a hug for me...and I will add to my prayer list!!

El Gato...my computer did not show the pics...just little red "x" in the corner.

Right click on the red x, select "properties". Then copy the URL from the picture, by holding down the left mouse button and highlighting the URL, and then left clicking and selecting copy. Then post the URL into your browser's address window.

Heck, I'll just post the URLs here.

The first, of the little girl in the hospital, is:

Keira

As you can see by the link her name is Keira. The second:

Miss V

In both cases you get the big version of the photo, not the small one I was trying to post.

I just don't understand, because I do so LOVE my granddaughters with all my being, a grandparent turning their back on one of their own..(actually two of their own, counting their own daughter)...

Yeh, Keira's grandmother was always kind of weird. Keira's mother was the youngest of her children, and the oldest was close to my and my wife's age. The oldest's husband had flow n "dustoff" choppers in Vietnam, and at the time was still in the Army. Keira's grandmother had several husbands over the years, and had at least one more after we lost track of her for a while. She was never married to at least one of the fathers of her children. Still she didn't seem that weird, she was short and vivacious, but with a temper. They were our neighbors, across the alley and two houses up, when we lived in Plano Texas.

We just got into town. Eaker is exhausted (as am I) and feeling ill. We flew into & out of LAX on a Buddy Pass, which meant our passenger status was Stand By. Getting to LAX was no problem, we got right on the plane. Getting home was a horror story! We spent 13 hours in LAX waiting to get on a plane ~ ~ the airport was freezing cold, about 40 degrees. We discussed purchasing sweat shirts, but decided we would wait to see if we got on a flight. The last flight last night left at 1:10 a.m., so off we go to purchase sweat shirts and there are no shops open anywhere!!

Back to the reason for the post - - -

Because of conversations with Faith on Friday, we were expecting to only be able to spend about an hour with TC. What a wonderful treat it was to have him alert for so long. He was a bit groggy during our visit, but not for long periods. Joel and Faith said that was the most alert and responsive TC had been in about a week.

We arrived Sunday morning (with donuts in hand). TC was more alert then the previous day. We spent 6.5 hours there and TC was damn near his ole self the entire time. We had such a wonderful visit. It broke our hearts to have to leave, especially hearing TC say, "You know what I hate about ya'll being here? . . . Is you have to leave.". At that point Eaker & I thought about moving to CA, for about two minutes.

I cannot give enough praise to Faith & Joel. They are amazing people that are under a lot of stress, perform exhausting physical work and provide constant attention to TC but we never once heard them complain ~ ~ as they said, while shrugging their shoulders, it's no thang.

Despite our horror trying to leave, it was a fabulous trip. It was worth the horror to be able to spend so much quality time with TC. Getting to meet Faith and Joel was an extra special bonus. We completely understand why TC loves Faith so much - she rocks!

For those that have TC ping list, can you send out this update. Thanks!

I know the visit must have meant the world to him.

Not sure who it meant more to . . . all of us got so much out of the visit.

Seeing him doing so well was heartwarming, leaving him was heartbreaking.
