A Few Prayers for Texas Cowboy!!
The Horse's Mouth | 08-Apr-05 | Tom Eaker

Prayers for TexasCowboy!

TexasCowboy has been using his hip injury as an excuse to prevent his friends from shooting his new riot gun.

Well some of us offered to take a look at it for him and he decided both a proffesional and sober opinion might make more sense.

So he found a coupon and now he is going to let some old saw-bones cut on him.

Probably a better idea than letting us do it, but a few folks feelings are still hurt!

Please all say a prayer for our Cowboy that he is back in the saddle again real soon.

I cannot stress enough how wonderful it was to see TC again. I am not one to brag, BUT . . . I have to say that I was able to give TC a TC hug.

If you have never had a TC hug; imagine being young and getting that hug from your father or grandfather where you just know you are truly loved and safe & protected and nothing in the world can harm you - that is a TC hug.

I truly love that man, and was so thrilled to be able to give him a TC hug and let him know he was truly loved.

Happy 230th Birthday

United States Marine Corps

On November 10th, 1775, the Second Continental Congress resolved to raise two battalions of Continental Marines marking the birth of our United States Marine Corps. As Major General Lejeune’s message reminds us, the ensuing generations of Marines would come to signify all that is highest in warfighting excellence and military virtue. Each November as Marines the world over celebrate the birth of our Corps, we pay tribute to that long line of “Soldiers of the Sea” and the illustrious legacy they have handed down to us.

Establishment of the Marine Corps, 10 November 1775

This resolution of the Continental Congress marked the establishment of what is now the United States Marine Corps.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Resolved, That two Battalions of marines be raised, consisting of one Colonel, two Lieutenant Colonels, two Majors, and other officers as usual in other regiments; and that they consist of an equal number of privates with other battalions; that particular care be taken, that no persons be appointed to office, or inlisted into said Battalions, but such as are good seamen, or so acquainted with maritime affairs as to be able to serve to advantage by sea when required: that they be inlisted and commissioned to serve for and during the present war between Great Britain and the colonies, unless dismissed by order of Congress: that they be distinguished by the names of the first and second battalions of American Marines, and that they be considered part of the number which the continental Army before Boston is ordered to consist of."

Today was Keira's first day home from the hostpital. She'll be ,in one degree or another, in semi-isolation until March, when she should be completely healed.

Meanwhile she's home, playing with her own toys (after they are disinfected on a daily basis) and even smiling on occasion, as in the image below.

Thanks again for all your thoughts and prayers.

if that doesn't work as an image. The link is:

Miss V thinks it's much to quite around this place. She thinks TC could use some entertaining. Just coincidently, she's just gotten a new "entertainer" that she's more than happy to demonstrate for TC, and everyone else.

Let's Party!

She was practicing for today, when her other Grandpa and Grandma arrived in town for her Christening, which is this Sunday, and for Thanksgiving.

For all of you that are lucky enough to still have your father with you, go visit, give him a TC hug and let him know you love and appreciate him.

For those of us that have lost our fathers, take comfort knowing they are in Heaven watching over us and enjoying their favorite Earthly passions guilt free (In my case, my Dad is eating beer flavored ice cream while playing dominoes with my brother, grandmother, great grandmother & his favorite cousin).

TC - Know we are all praying for you, Faith and Joel. I love you!

My Dad would be playing pool, smiling at his girls. I miss him every single day.

Cowboy, we love you dearly and miss you more than we can say - please know you are in our prayers and thoughts every day.
