In S.F., Dean calls GOP 'a white Christian party'
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | 6/7/5 | Carla Marinucci

Posted on 06/07/2005 4:11:16 PM PDT by SmithL

Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean, unapologetic in the face of recent criticism that he has been too tough on his political opposition, said in San Francisco this week that Republicans are "pretty much a monolithic party. They all behave the same. They all look the same. It's pretty much a white Christian party."

I know lots of brown people (who are also christian) who voted straight republican. All they had to know was that democrats are the party that supports gay marriage, killing off future generations before they are born, want to take away parental control and corrupt the minds of children... to name a few.

Here's a note to Dean. It's not about skin color, its the about the issues stupid!!

"Cable's always at least a day behind the net."

It's not on Foxnews website either. Their headline is still Africa aid crap. DNC chairman saying "Republicans all look the same" isn't a big story? Drudge has it as his headline but as usual the rest of the media is burying it.

A lot of black folks love their church, especially the ones from the South that I know.

This is true, but why does religion and political choice have to follow in lock step? I've said it before, some of the most religious, conservative black people I know wouldn't be caught dead voting Republican, even though, when asked, they actually support everything the party stands for. I just couldn't be that much of a hypocrite.

What benefit do they get out of letting some white guy come to their church during the campaign, some white guy who'll never go there again, just to make promises, get their vote, and to leave? How hard is it for people to see that they're being used?

LOL!

MY German probably IS comparable to a four-year-old's. That isn't MY German, it's Adolph's German; a direct quote. You can probably find it on-line somewhere if you search using a sentence fragment.

"This is one of those flaps that comes up once in awhile when I get tough," Dean said. "We have to be rough on the Republicans. Republicans don't represent ordinary Americans and they don't have any understanding of what it is to go out and try and make ends meet."

BWAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!

ARRRRRRRRRGH!!!

It's the preachers who control it. Basically, the party official goes to the church and makes a contribution to the collection (and he's already given a payment to the preacher) and then preacher then gets up and makes some speech, saying its the Christian duty to vote for whomever.

"GOSH! I'm shocked"

You're right about most of the media but Foxnews success is based on the fact that they will report this stuff when others won't. They seem more and more to just parrot the rest of the media though. O'reilly's entire show today was filled with boring, benign stories. He usually lives for this kind of story. He'd better watch his ratings.

Drudge is the only one who will report things like this now.

Dean is the best thing to come along in years! Not only is he a great recruiting tool for the RNC but, as a writer, I never have to search too far for material.

I don't get it either. One guy I talked to said he didn't like abortion but had no answer when I said why do you vote for democrats? i think a lot of black people are insecure. They know the democrats aren't good people but many are familiar with their hucksterisms BUT they won't go over to the republican party. It's fear. Fear of the unknown. I stopped inviting black people to a lot of the things I go to because the first question I get is 'are there going to be any black people there'? It's so tragic.

Go, Howie, go! The more you talk the more people will realize that liberalism is a mental disorder.

By the way, are you really a Republican plant? Just thought I would ask. :)

Howard's Quack-Up Continues

Howard Dean appears to be coming apart before our eyes, and it isn't a pretty sight. The San Francisco Chronicle has the latest, via Drudge. This time, Dean says: "The Republicans are not very friendly to different kinds of people. They're a pretty monolithic party. They all behave the same and they all look the same. It's pretty much a white, Christian party."

Ah, yes, those Republicans--they all look the same to me!

If the Democrats had any sense, they'd put Dean out of his misery. But they don't, and they won't, at least for now.

OH HORROR OF HORRORS!

CAN YOU IMAGINE THAT?! THE MAJORITY PARTY IS SUPPORTED BY PEOPLE WHO BELIEVE IN A GOD WHO LOVES THEM, GOODWILL TOWARDS THEIR NEIGHBORS, HELPING THE UNFORTUNATE TO HELP THEMSELVES, AND PRAYING FOR THE SALVATION OF THEIR ENEMIES!

WE'RE DOOMED!!!!!!!!!!!

"Forget the old media

The internet is definetly becoming a bigger and bigger source, but alot of these sites are just conservatives preaching to the choir. Foxnews reaches enough people to raise public conciousness of an event to the point where the rest of the media has to report it. It's very important. I was hoping this would be on their "News Alert" banner. Foxnews Alert: DNC Chairman Howard Dean says Republicans "all look the same"

I have always had a problem with the black church. I feel that the amount of misguided control, by un- or undereducated 'preachers' who are out to line their own pockets, has hampered the growth of the black community. Particulary, those who encouraged their flock to suffer the indignities of racism in order to build up 'treasures in heaven,' can in no way be considered leaders.

I grew up with people who belonged to these types of churches and who were mind-controlled through them. I never understood why some people are afraid to think for themselves. If you are against abortion, pro-family, pro-working hard, and pro-clean living, how in the name of all that's holy do you vote Democrat, no matter what some so-called preacher tells you to do?
