Apparently.

I didn't follow this case at all. Never watched a single show about it.

That said, if all twelve jurors concluded that he wasn't guilty....then who are we to complain about it? I thought conservatives were supposed to believe in the rule of law, the right to a fair trial, etc. Sounds like a lot of people on FR "convicted" MJ on the basis that he is: a) a celebrity, and b) weird beyond description.

There are several here who think they know more about the case than the jurors who sat through every shred of evidence. Their blind conviction will not allow them to believe that the right verdict may have been made.

Those are not the reasons I think he is guilty, I think he is guilty because there is more than one accuser over a period of many years which to me at least shows a pattern of behavior. He got off legally, that doesn't mean I think the jury verdict is right.

Pretty much sums it up.

Lack of credibility of the witnesses and plaintiffs got MJ off...

In a non capitial case, does a not guilty verdict have to be unanimous?

I agree with you. We have been hearing about how uncredable the witnesses against Jackson have been all through this and people are stunned. People here should be the first to say that you are innocent until proven guilty. That is what the American justice system is all about. No one here sat on the jury. They just want to convict someone just because it is a terrible crime he was accused of and they want to see Jackson go down no matter if he is guilty or not. I have seen this mentality around here too much. No one can even claim the jury decision was race biased because all the jurors were white. There are a lot of people here that I would not want to sit on a jury.
From what I have been hearing the prosecutor has been putting forth all kinds of frivolous material that has cost both sides a lot of money. One example was putting a boy on the stand as a victim who then said that he was not only a victim, but that he was never even asked by the prosecution if he was a victim before being put on the stand. For crap like that the prosecutor should be sued because that purely shows that he was not interested in the truth, but only in the win. And that is unethical. The prosecutor should be barred from practicing law for doing something like that.
