Most pundits gave Prime Minister Tony Blair rave reviews yesterday after he assured a his stunned nation that al-Qaida's attack on London would not persuade him to abandon the war on terror.
But NBC's Katie Couric apparently wasn't impressed.
Covering the aftermath of the attacks live with NBC "Nightly News" anchorman Brian Williams, the "Today" show hostess observed: "He is quite a polarizing figure in Great Britain. I know his support of President Bush, his support of the Iraq war, has won him, actually, a lot of enemies."
Citing a recent poll that showed 68 percent of Brits opposed the Iraq war, Couric suggested that they might actually blame Blair for the attacks, wondering aloud, "Do you think this is going to create more antagonism toward the British prime minister?"
Fox News radio host Tony Snow, who aired the Couric clips on his Friday broadcast, sympathized with Williams, who had to sit by as his NBC colleague struck one negative note after another.
"If I'm Brian Williams, I'm hating life" during Couric's rant, said Snow.
Sorry, I posted my previous response without reading your post. You got there before me.
I'm kinda amused by Katie. I live overseas and get back to the states for two weeks out of each year. I'll turn on the tv and watch the Today program for maybe the first two mornings there...and start laughing at her attempts to play a real news person...and by the third day...I just switch over to Fox.
Most folks I know in the south...rarely take her serious. I suspect that her power base is the New England area and California. If I were Fox...I'd bring on some female comedian for a month, to imitate Katie...and make a total fool of the gal.
Excellent. Very inventive as usual.

Now there is an interesting proposition.
Katie can read????
Katie needs a good hard smack upside the head with a dead fish.
