the NAACP for the last 40 to 50 years has proven to be part of the elite, white, racist Democratic Party," said Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson,

THE ELITE, WHITE, RACIST DEMOCRATIC PARTY hah! Jesse hits the nail on the head again!

NAACP is sure to use whatever statements Mehlman makes against him.

Yeah, probably.

But the more important question is, why doesn't the RNC wake up to the fact that most blacks don't care about the NAACP anymore? If he's going to target blacks, why doesn't Mehlman speak before the Assn of Black Accountants? The Black MBAs? The National Bar or National Medical Assn? Speak to people who have a stake in society, not the dregs who depend on the NAACP to perpetuate their victim status.

A good politician is careful about closing doors.

A white Republican candidate for a high judgeship that a Republican had never held in his state attended a LULAC candidates meeting. The Hispanic Democrat incumbent and his black primary challenger were asked all the questions and the Republican was ignored.

At the end of the session the moderator asked the candidates if they had anything to add. The Republican spoke for the first time and said "Does anyone have any question for me?" An audience member responded "Yeah, why did you come here?" The Republican answered "Because you invited me."

The black democrat defeated the Hispanic incumbent in the Democrat primary and the Republican made history by becoming the first Republican elected to such a court in the history of that state. True story.

Ofer cryin out loud!
If Republicans speak to NAACP, it's a "mistake" because it's a "waste of time"
If they do not speak, it's an insult.
As usual, Republicans cannot win. Anyway this is now a looney fringe group.

I've heard insanity defined as "doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result." The Republicans keep trying to "communicate" with racists and outright lunatics and expect to sometime achieve a different result. Pathetic!

The NAACP just got rid of a flaming leftist loser and say they want to move toward the middle. It would be foolish not to take them at their word and give them another chance. If there's one chance in a hundred that the NAACP may stop being an arm of the Democrat party and go back to helping blacks, it's worth taking.

Having said that, I agree that Republicans should get more involved with working blacks and black professional association.

I must say I do agree with Rev. Peterson regarding the RNC Chairman attempting to offer an olive branch to the NAALCP. He'll only get his hand bitten off by that bunch of old rabid racist wolves, despite the presence of people like Oakland president Shannon Reeves, who like the majority of black conservatives is on the outs with the graybeard, scandal-ridden leadership. You'd think these bozos would get a clue by now.
