Juan Andres Soria is a block head. Just try cutting down trees for bio-oil in this country and see what happens.
Hey Juan, I have a novel idea, why don't we simply drill for oil?

Interestingly enough, you can grow three times the amount of biomass per acre growing hemp than you can growing trees.
Hemp makes far superior paper products as well.
The only problem is that another name for hemp is marijuana.

I guess these youngsters didn't catch the switch from wood to coal in those old steam engines. Seems they were'nt getting enough energy from the wood.

During WWII, Japan actually created fuel from pine roots and removed quite a bit of its forests in the process. But from what I have read of it, it was poor fuel that never worked all that well.
I did a quick Google search with "pine root Japan fuel", and I found this page http://www.cominganarchy.com/ that mentions the subject.
Pine roots being harvested in 1945 to be processed into fuel (photo from above website).

There is a huge new development being built across the road from where I live. Step one seems to be bulldoze all of the trees down, while Step two is pile them up and burn them. I guess the air wasn't dirty enough or maybe it was too cool at 90 degrees.
