That was a day we won't soon forget.

Yeah, it was truly dramatic. I can imagine MC holding their breath when they made the first call to the shuttle as it re-entered the atmosphere. I'm so happy they're back.

Oh yeah, louder than I expected and it was two rapid fire booms a pause then another one. 10 miles till landing. The turn in air WOW!
Really loud booms.. Last time I heard one this loud was a Columbia landing, I think.

When I first heard they were heading to Edwards I seriously considered jumping in the car ... but then I'd have to face the wrath of my loved one and I knew she'd never go along for the ride LOL.
The BOOMS and the feeds and here were good enough.

Sounded like someone pounding on the door.
Thought for a moment I had locked Mrs. Lurkin out by mistake.

I just fought with my 9 year old about this. I told him to put of Fox so we can see the shuttle land and tried to explain to him the importance of this event. He said it is crap and he would rather watch a rerun of Drake and Josh.

Good for you.
They teach our children nothing but trash and poison their minds and spirits with leftist propaganda.

They have to disinfect the vehicle....
plus allow time for the alien life that was clinging to the wing to jump off and slither away into the desert.

I was outside til just now. That was AWESOME!
Discovery was a bright triangle that flew right over my house. I mean RIGHT over. The booms were so loud they scared me. It was in sunlight right up to the end, then I lost her.
Even though it was a glider for all intents and purposes, I could hear it moving. That was fantastic.

Our female Commander is so good that she could probably even parallel park that shuttle. LOL
