LOL - sorry but this would be a script kiddie, not a hacker. The actions described here do not even come close to the level of even your most basic hacker.

OK, they had me right up 'til here...

AMD is a third-world based company who make inferior, "knock-off" copies of American processor chips. They use child labor extensively in their third world sweatshops, and they deliberately disable the security features that American processor makers, such as Intel, use to prevent hacking. AMD chips are never sold in stores, and you will most likely be told that you have to order them from internet sites.

Then it started to get worse from there, until I finally started to do the "hmmm...something's wrong here" bit.

If your son is failing courses in school, or performing poorly on sports teams, he may be involved in a hacking group
Or he may be doing drugs, depressed, making violent plans, .....or he may just be a bored teenager.

If your son has requested a new "processor" from a company called "AMD", this is genuine cause for alarm. Do not buy this chip! This is one request that you must refuse your son, if you are to have any hope of raising him well.

Yes do not buy this chip. It is made by the technology leader and causes Intel to play catch up, leading to increased competition in the processor market, which must be bad for consumers. This chip will obviously lead to hacking. BAHAHAHAHA who wrote this trash?

If the addage that an apple doesn't tall far from the tree is true, I'm sure my son would be. If he existed, of course.

... AMD is a third-world based company who make inferior, "knock-off" copies of American processor chips. ...

This is news to me - A company traded on the NYSE which manufactures processors which are sometimes better than Intels own processor family ... I don't think so ..

9. Has your son radically changed his appearance?

If your son has undergone a sudden change in his style of dress, you may have a hacker on your hands. Hackers tend to dress in bright, day-glo colors.

To funny!

'bright, day-glo colors'!

This important story brought to you by your friends at AOL ("When you need an ISP that can make even the speed of light seem slow."), Intel ("64-bit addressing for desktops? Never happen..."), and Microsoft ("Building a better future by buying out all of the good ideas or, barring that, crushing them.").

This story had better be a parody...

11) Is the screen flashing bright red with a siren coming from the speakers, while your son yells:"YES! LOOK! I am in the Department of Defense!"

This is something that actually happened, according to my daughter-in-law, who is not in the habit of telling stories.

But then, my son is 40 and an IT professional.

Another true story: back in the 70s, several friends of my then-husband were students at MIT. They were what was known as phone phreaks and had what was called a black box, which allowed free long distance telephone calls.

They were all offered security positions by the FBI before they graduated.

I beg to differ with the author of this artical as he does not know what he is talking about. AMD Advanced Micro Devices does sell its CPU's in retail stores I know that for a fact because I built a Powerfull System using their newest processor which I purchased from COMPUSA along with the rest of the hardware he needed.

I think the author should learn that Intel is not the only manufacturer of Central Processing Unit chips because thats just Not so.
