I just saw the news report on the Video at the above link. Staff at the Nursing home said they were coping and had enough food to hold out til rescued. Now they have no more food.. Unbelievable...

Reports about cops looting SUV's is just a bunch of crap. First SUV is exactly what I want law enforcement in, not squad cars, which are underwater along with shot guns, riot gear, jail cells, etc. etc. Also I think almost any cop would know each vehicle as a VIN number and each dealer has that VIN number logged also as well as who they got the vehicle from. What would they do with it after the crisis is over?

Don't get me wrong, I am sure there are some cops looting stuff but the majority of them are just trying to do an impossible job.

Shoot on sight should have been in effect since the storm broke.

Easy for us to say today BUT..., in today's litigious society, any cop following such orders would quickly be the target of a lawsuit/prosecution for using "unreasonable force" and violating the perps' "civil rights"!

I am old enough to remember when the National Guard entered disaster situations CARRYING LIVE AMMUNITION and the order to SHOOT LOOTERS ON SIGHT meant what it said (remember what that cost them at Kent State???)!

Now, only if you are lucky enough to live in a state which guarantees your personal right to protect yourself and your family with deadly force, do you have any real rights! Police/National Guardsman are NOT protected in a similar manner and probably will never be again until REAL TOTAL ANARCHY is present!

Where are all the good old boys and bubbas who are armed to the teeth? I guess they either bugged out or have their own problems to contend with at home, but I sure wish some citizens' posses would start forming up to guard places like this and the hospitals until the police and the National Guard get sorted out. They don't have to shoot anybody (unless someone shoots at them), but just stand guard against the jackals.

Too bad that they didn't understand the benefits of being armed in a situation such as this. I was thinking the exact same thing last night. Looting abandoned stores wouldn't be stopped, but it certainly would be at hospitals and other facilities which are not abandoned.
