Forget the MSM...there are plenty of people right here at FR who need to STFU.

Quite frankly I think both sides should shut up and spend that energy toward trying to save the people who need saving. Deal with whose fault it is or isn't after that job has been finished.

The I would think that you, as an intelligent person (I've read your bio) would enlighten them to the facts.

The MSM, race pimps, and liberals never fail to point out that the overwhelming color of the victims are Black. Yet, these same cretins are strangely silent as to the overwhelming White color of those doing all that is humanly possible to rescue those Black victims.

I watched the videos on the television where several NO policemen were standing at a busted open door of one of the stores while people ran in and out with stuff. There were some shots of NO policemen taking stuff away from the looters but not one picture of any arrests that first night of looting. At what point do we stop being worried about "political correctness" and start doing what is right?

OK, so the Left wants to impeach President Bush for (fill in the blank). Emotionally, I understand where they are coming from. Every week, I wanted to impeach Clinton for something or other.

Practically, who's next in line? Cheney. Since they think Cheney is responsible for Bush's actions anyway, this is not going to help them any. Then you have the Speaker of the House (Hastert) and the President Pro Tem of the Senate (Ted Stevens) or maybe it's the other way around. Then we start going through the Cabinet.

I think even the craziest of the crzies on the left knows this and are just trying to weaken the President and the Republicans' popularity to take over Congress in 2006 and the Presidency in 2008.

It is up to grassroots activists like us here on FR to save the A**es of the Republican politicians to keep them in power and keep the liberal lunatics from running the asylum.

Democrat woman. What do you expect? They are mealy-mouthed wishy-washy wimps.

They are no Jeane Kirkpatricks, Condi Rices, Helen Bentleys, Ann Coulters, or FTM Margaret Thatchers.

We have genuine tough women, the ilk of real women stars of old such as Bette Davis, Joan Crawford, Barb Stanwyck & the like.

Dem women are the hokey "liberated & thus (allegedly) tough" women of today's stars such as Melanie Griffith, Demi Moore and Julia Roberts. You can see rite thru them that no matter how they try to fake it, they never exude strength and toughness.

Saying that northern cities are too far away and too costly to transport people there is just an unacceptable excuse. We can transport victims by bus, train or plane. There are lots of sports stadiums all over this country, not just in Houston. Come on folks, it is not "someone else's problem." It is reasonable to expect New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta, Kansas City, Little Rock, etc, etc. to do what they can to house and care for the displaced.

It is not that Americans are not trying to help Americans. That is a stupid thought beyond words.

But at the moment there is a paralysis either due to bad leadership, bureaucracy or whatever and people are dying.

There are American NGO officials on British TV nearly crying because they have supplies waiting to go in but say there is no coordination.

Cooper must understand that we have mealy-mouthed wishy-washy feel-good crap for "rules" now that heavens any1 should ever be shot at much less actually killed. That would be very un-PC.

So to avoid shooting at the scum, the NG leaves in many cases cuz they're invariably not *allowed* to shoot the scum. That's how "nice" we are here.

But it gets absurdly ridiculous. There are times to abandon the niceness, take off the kid gloves, and start shooting the @%@#$%heads.

Well that should have been the attitude from the first. Don't you agree?

That is all I am saying. Ther always has to be Law and Order or people will die.

And in case anyone thinks me as a "foreigner" is sitting all happy and smug, well would you if Glasgow, Manchester or Liverpool was in the same situation? No? Neither am I, neither is the UK, and neither is even the lefties.

This is non-political here, as it should be.

no and Hitler wasn't planning on coming your way. sure.
maybe I should have mentioned this "cliche"--we Americans don't speak the Queen's English thanks to our brave troops.

btw: the men who fought in WWII don't see it as "cliche stuff".

you didn't directly say that the troops were coward~~ you implied it.....right after your proclamation of astonishment, comparison to Indonesia and how British troops would never not go down a street b/c of dangerous men...can you imagine!---you bought the line and perpetuated the lies. you are complicit.

....we Americans don't need that kind of crap right now.

You assume "cost" means MONEY for the CITIES.

I'm talking about personal COSTS for the victims - in terms of people who are ALREADY sick & injured and will get worse on long ordeals, people who are already exhausted and don't need to try to prop up on a long ride until they finally get there, etc. The longer they have to go, the harder it is for them to hold up, or even take some things w/them.

Never mind the COSTS to those victims trying to get BACK to where they were - in many cases, that too will be their money & credit, anyway (yes, you do have to make people start being responsible for themselves at SOME point). Not to mention the hardships of just trying to handle business/housing arrangements from further away, or making the trip back thru thousands of miles.

Seeing as you just joined yesterday, I take your comments with a grain of salt. I've donated money and signed up as a volunteer with red cross. My high horse is in the stable. Seems like you found your own high horse.

So..... Where is your precious British Army?

Don't recall any British military units volunteering to come here to help?

You see only what our worthless mainstream media wants you to see.......that our military failed! Truth of the matter is evacuees from the Superdome have said the military (read National Guard) has been great helping people out with keeping order and providing what supplies they can....

By the way...you do realize that this hurricane effected other places besides New Orleans....Oh, I guess you don't since you obviously believe our media!!!!

Guess you didn't know about the military (read National Guard) troops busting their butts in Mississippi and Alabama.....Two areas actually hit harder by Katrina than New Orleans....

Do all of us in this country a favor...read the name of this thread and do just that....

Bingo! Yes, bad leadership, but it is disingenuous for the media to attempt to tar the Feds. It is not Federal, it is State leadership that must coordinate.

You don't understand the implications and ramifications of President Bush Federalizing the state of Louisiana which is what he would have to do. How? Who knows. Again, read the Posse Comitatus. It goes along with the aftermath of Civil War and Reconstruction. Federalization was done with the War on Drugs and I suppose it can be done for this, but then again, Federalizing a state even in this emergency is not to be done without thinking hard.

Yes, I'm frustrated. I don't want people to die or suffer. We will learn from this.

It is intended to rile the other low income impoverished blacks across the country.

Yesterday, I spoke to a black woman from Slidell who evacuated before Katrina to my hometown.

She was literally in tears over the embarrassment of behavior happening in NO, saying "we are not like what is portrayed". And she was speaking of people of her own race.

She also expressed gratitude in having a relationship with God before this event. And she told her teen daughter that an event like this brings out who we really are. The best of the good and the worst of the evil.
