Yep. It's amazing how some people hear "Cherche le jeuf!" and think, "Now that's great foreign policy!"

Our troops did win that war. Your kind surrendered after our troops won it. We're not going to let you do that again.

Seconded! Anyone who doubts it should cruise on over to www.wintersoldier.com.

Hey AC, why didn't the U.S. do anything to stop the invasion of South Vietnam after the Paris Peace Talks?

Nice comments. And really, you have to wonder what's in Paul's head. If the wimpier members of the GOP got what they want, we would be a weaker and less free nation. If the Dem caucus gets what they want, we'll be headed for gulagland. So who does Paul spend his time criticizing? Republicans, and he spends more time shooting at the conservatives than the RINOs. It's like being in WWII and hating the French while the Nazis are bearing down on your position.

Well, you can add my words of encouragement
as well... from a young FReeper. :-)

BykrBayb, your son is a hero, as is all who are serving in the armed forces and serving our country, I salute you for raising someone who thinks of others before themselves.

Sheltonmac: But I guess the fact that we haven't had a terrorist attack on our soil in four whole years is all the proof some people need that the war in Iraq is working to thwart a global terrorist network.

Well I don't need to be hit over the head with an RPG to know who the enemy is, and for the record my son is one of those over there and I too thought that is was important enough to take a stand and do what I can, so when you see fit, you can join me my address is Camp Victory Baghdad Iraq.

On another point, all those who enjoy their liberty I would question why guns are being conficated in N.O. and by who's aledged authority.

An nescis, mi fili, quantilla sapientia mundus regatur?

I gather that you are ANNOYED that, since Bush closed the terrorist training camps in Afghanistan and Iraq, there have been no terrorist attacks on the US since 9/11.

Shame on you for wishing that more American civilians were dead!

Before you make any statement about "winning" the war, you must first tell me: 1) what our objective was, and 2) how we accomplished it.

Our objective was to prevent the North Vietnamese from taking over the South. We had it won by making them militarily incapable of doing so. The Viet Cong was useless, the NVA was defeated every time they came out, and Giap would later say that if it weren't for the rebirth of the antiwar movement in Kerry's era, they would have stopped trying to take the South.

Vietnamization was proceeding well, and we were on track to have a relationship with the South like the one we already had with the ROK--You guys are your own show, but we're ready to provide massive combat power to defend you if your criminal neighbor invades. But then something happened...and that something is the answer to the question in my last post to you. So answer that and get back to me.

I don't know about the Great Warrior stuff LOL

I was just a contractor....

I do sometimes find myself disoriented at home because I can vividly remember Victory.

FDR committed the United States to defeating all the forces of tyranny, not just those that directly threatened us.

He should have started by defeating himself. FDR's commitment to central planning and government intervention in every aspect of American life gave birth to the modern tyranny of the Federal Government. I suppose it is fitting to compare GWB to FDR since both have threatened our freedom through unprecedented expansion of the government.

I salute you for raising a son who is now protecting all of us (myself included) from a known enemy. Please be sure and thank him for me.

I've been chewing nails over the gun confiscations. Are we powerless to stop it?

[Ron Paul is just gearing up to raise more money from his third party wacko supporters.]

Agreed on that, the man is a confusing mix of values ranging from left to right and therefore seems to be what some call a rino.
