Yes, purple fingers.
I bet that just burns you up that they actually had elections over there.

Oh, John Galt and Burkeman1 are still banned.
For pretty much the same garbage you are saying right now.

Why would anyone want to lend credence to U.N. resolutions? If having the most powerful nation on the planet enforce U.N. resolutions isn't a form of world government, what is?

Hmmm...and what country fought a war that resulted in those resolutions being in place? I'll give you a hinte, it starts with "United."

If Hirohito had ditched the surrender document in 1947 and the UN had been ticked, would you have termed the resulting B-29 strikes as a form of world government?

LOL!!

yet you turn on the tear ducts when I correctly identify you as an anti-military blowhard.

No I just expected more than name calling and actual debate of the issues

Too bad you not only don't have the courage to defend it, but you actually impede those who do.

Well I'm through with you. As you've gone off into the hyperbolic attacks, it's senseless to continue a conversation. Tell me how I have impeded anyone. What have I done?

I do find it interesting that I have not attacked you, I have not called you a name, and yet I have been called a coward and anti-military blowhard for a stance that used to be standard among conservatives. I would say this has impugned me and would be considered a personal attack. However, I doubt much would be done about it. Isn't that right?

Good job, you've done so well debating...

Can you imagine the hell that would have broken loose in 1946 if Hirohito had said, "You know what? That whole surrender thing is not working for me, and in fact, i won the war, so we'll start shooting at your planes again and try to assassinate FDR. But remember, we aren't a threat." The situation with Saddam is pretty much the same, but there are still people who act as if Dubya got up one day and invaded Iraq just to tick libertarians off. And the funny part is they think they've got a real bead on the reality of warfighting and geopolitics.

Right on target, Mr. Silverback.

I guess my main reaction is sadness. Even though I happen to be "pro-war" I believe we need principled iconoclasts like Ron Paul.

The lack of a moonbat-free loyal opposition may do more damage to this country in the long run than anything Bush does wrong.

Since you have revealed the fact that you haven't a clue what that purple finger represents, let me give you clue. She voted.

Wait for the shock of that revelation to wear off before you respond. Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt.

That 'democracy' you practically praise will give you the next Islamic theocracy, you can bet the bank on it.

Since you haven't been to Iraq, I see NO REASON to continue ANY debate with you. Since you HAVEN'T read the Iraqi Constitution, you have NO idea what it will say. Since you haven't any points to make except the same blah blah blah crap YOU ALWAYS POST, I wonder if you don't copy and paste it? Hey keep sucking on that finger!!! OF course you will CONTINUE TO IGNORE THE OBJECTIVE REALITIES OF THE SITUATION BECAUSE YOU ARE JUST ANOTHER INTERNET AHOLE WHO THINKS HE KNOWS EVERYTHING!!! SUCK ON THAT, THE FINGER AND OH BY THE WAY, HERE ARE A COUPLE MORE!!!!

And suck on this one too

Ohh yeah there's one more thing for you

a long line of soldiers in the family.

The interesting thing is that is exactly what some people here want. They claim to be concerned about their relatives in the military, yet want to see them fighting over a billion Muslims. Go figure.

We were at war with quite a few million Japanese, and my grandmother managed to be concerned about my grandfather without wanting the war to stop.

I don't think we are at war with one billion Muslims, but if we were, I would want my nephew to be doing the same thing he did in Iraq last year: Kill the enemy.

There is absolutely no contradiction in the position these people have taken, despite your childish derision of them. The contradiction is in your posts and it is a mirror image of the contradiction you accuse them of.

I think, in WilliamCub's case, the issue is settled on this score.

I've tried reasoning with some of these people before, but they watch the news a lot, so they know way more than I do.

Two soldiers that I spoke to recently and one of their wives said almost the exact same thing. the wife said her husband is always dealing with "experts" on the Iraq ground situation who know more than he does despite the fact that he spent 16 months there. The real clowns are the ones who hear he was at Abu Ghraib for part of the time and lecture him about what really went on there.

The folks fighting in Iraq are doing so in order that you can continue to sit in your mom's basement begging for more pop tarts when the munchies hit ya.

Direct hit! Bravo Zulu!

We're all supposed to be Cindy Sheehans, pi$$ing on our sons and daughters while they defend our freedoms, and pi$$ing on their graves to glorify the terrorists who killed them.

The world is full of people who are 100% certain why we lost Vietnam, and the vast majority of them are either wrong, wrong wrong, or they're right about the reason but don't understand that it was just one of many reasons.

But yes, I would say AC made the dumbest post today. Not only was the disloyal opposition a major reason Vietnam was lost, it's ludicrous to say that there was no examination of the war during the war.

Don't ask questions they can't answer. They'll just call you anti-American and bombard you with "patriotic" rhetoric--along with the obligatory profanity to make their responses seem more credible.

What were the Iraqis doing at Salman Pak? What was Al-Zarqawi doing in an Iraqi hospital? Can a country try to assassinate an American President and not be our enemy?

I'm figuring you won't answer those questons. You can't without giving ground, and the bloated attitude of moral superiority is all you have to back your silly arguments.

A lot of libs think they can "reach" us by pretending to be libertarians, and a lot think they can "reach" us by spouting silly "religious" rhetoric, like "Who would Jesus bomb?" What they don't realize is that we can smell it on them.

BTW, for any lurkers, the answer to the above question is a question: "How many Nazis would Jesus bomb?" Because whether a nation goes to war or not has nothing to do with what Jesus would do if he were President, it has to do with the right of nations to defend their people.
