I'm a little confused here. Which attack, against which troops? Maybe she means the Khobar Towers...or the Iraqis firing on our pilots...or the Iraqis trying to assassinate a veteran who just happened to be a former President of the United States.
Oh wait, never mind, she explained herself further down the thead. But my point is interesting, no?

Well, I'll say this: If the members of the third parties spent as much energy staying with the GOP and keeping it on-message as they do pretending the GOP is Satan, the gOP would be a better party and the country would be safer. Some people think the big tent stops 6 inches to their own right and left.

I'll pass that on to him. I can almost hearing him blushing over the phone whenever I tell him the wonderful things FReepers are saying.

Calling Islam the religion of peace is like calling Christianity the religion of gay marriage. If a billion Muslims want to ignore the teachings of the Koran and make nice with we infidels, then that's fine with me. And for sure the vast majority of Muslims on American soil are ROP types, so why alienate them by telling them something about their religion they will never accept?

Still reading, and curbing my anger. But thanks for the ping Tonk.

I would like to take a moment to honor the sacrifice of Happy_in_the_center; without Happy and so many others making the ultimate sacrifice, I would not be free to...
Post a bunch of really cool Viking Kitty graphics!! BWAHAHAHAHA!

Hey, not that it refutes your point, but when you or those you agree with are making these silly Vietnam comparisons, does it ever occur to you that it would take 73 years for us to get to the Vietnam caualty counts?

But I am somewhat occupied on my end of things.
So I'm having to leave the working of the target area to others.

Saddam defied the UN Resolutions that allowed him to remain in power after we, and our allies, had to go kick him out of Kuwait. He was FINALLY held accountable for his actions, and he was FINALLY removed from power. I find it quite frustrating that people seem to forget about that. Can you imagine the hell that would have broken loose in 1946 if Hirohito had said, "You know what? That whole surrender thing is not working for me, and in fact, i won the war, so we'll start shooting at your planes again and try to assassinate FDR. But remember, we aren't a threat."
The situation with Saddam is pretty much the same, but there are still people who act as if Dubya got up one day and invaded Iraq just to tick libertarians off. And the funny part is they think they've got a real bead on the reality of warfighting and geopolitics.

Oh good a purple finger. I can't tell you the joy that courses through my veins. We've taken one of, if not, the only secular nations in the region and set up the basis for the next Islamic theocracy. Mind you, Hussein was a bad guy but he was the US bad guy (you do remember the last round of interventionism 'conservatives'
supported back in the late 70s/early 80s don't you? Which side was the US on again then?). The last thing I want is yet another Islamic theocracy. But that's what that blasted purple finger has given us. That 'democracy' you practically praise will give you the next Islamic theocracy, you can bet the bank on it. No, I'm not talking US politics...even though I see where you could be confused.
Suck on that
How absolutely mature. Why that statement and a purple finger are such a compelling argument against historical evidence of failure upon failure of attempted Westernization of this area. Surely you could have at least provided some words of wisdom, misguided as they would be, from the 'enlightened' talking heads. But as I see their articles have devolved to not much more than name calling as arguments, I'll take what I can get. Got any more words of enlightenment there?
