Feingold droning on about habeas corpus. Feingold says Roberts shows not the slightest concern for habeas process.

Roberts says law has evolved since the '80s. In 80s there were no limits and dozens of petitions could be filed. Congress acted to limit it. The SC limited it. Roberts thought system needed reform as habeas petitions could be filed ad ininitum so Congress solved problem.

I wish they would have put it on CSPAN 1 or 2. I'll have access to a TV today, but not a computer.

You know it would be on everywhere if the dims were drawing blood. That they are ignoring it illustrates the "objectivity" of the "news" media.

Feingold asks: But didn't you want to eliminate Habeus Corpus?"
Roberts: No.

I feel smarter just listening to Judge Roberts.

Roberts has a real talent for cutting through the cr#p and explaining things clearly.

Re: . . . not ONE question fromm the Dems about the Federalist Society?

It's clear that the dem staff for the liberal senators have no content. Their staff, having so little to dig on Roberts with, are forcing their bosses to blather without a point.

This is a much stronger argument and shows some real analysis of the documents.

Roberts now responds: Not Habeas Corpus but multiple and repetitive Habeas Corpae (?). He uses Judge Friendly as the justiciation for addressing the issue. Feingold says you want to abolish it. Roberts says no - avoid making it a source of delay and avoidance of responsibility.

Then Roberts carefuilly avoids agreeing with Feingold's misleading summary: He says nothing.

Right-o.

That's why you can't find it anywhere on TV this morning. He's lecturing them like freshmen law students, which they sound like.

Of course not Habeas Corpus becomes very important if you are the attorney for the defendant, Feingold is demonstrating that he is a moron. I am not a lawyer, but dang, that is a relatively easy concept that even a CJ major like me can understand.

After watching bits and pieces of these hearings it's going to be pretty difficult for any democrat Senator to justify voting against Judge Roberts.

Reagan must be turning in his grave.

I bet the Gipper has a big grin on his face watching Roberts run circles around the clowns.

Russ tries to trap Judge Roberts by asking a general question about health care law. He slaps him down like a gnat.

Now on to more ADA law questions...
