Honor guard volunteer Linda Foley cried as she said, “Casey’s boots are gone! His boots are gone. You tell me that we’re not being respectful. Those crosses are probably in a trash can somewhere right now! His boots are gone. What kind of people would do that.”

Linda, honey, Cindy Sheehan stole Casey's boots first, and you didn't complain about that...

Rose, ignore that nasty rumor that the cows did it! We "dumb cows" don't have time for that kind of nonsense! I just got home from work thousands of miles from Crawford....justanobody is busy busy in DC....allegra has been doing her part for hurricane evacuees in Texas.....and ohioWfan, well, she would never ever steal anything!

Ever since he called us "dumb cows" on this forum, a certain poster has been casting aspersions on us....when he's not criticizing President Bush or assailing the military WOT strategy! Don't believa a word he says!

BTW, you mooooooooo really well, maybe you should join our little herd.

Mail the boots to his father. Cindy doesn't deserve them.

(at a rally in Cleveland (some help here, please)

President Bush: "Hey, there's that reporter, Clymer."

Vice-President Cheney: "Yeah, he's a real a$$hole."

or words to that effect...

And I can't believe that a mother who really cared for her child would have left them.

I don't believe the were Casey's Boots. IIRC, they were black boots, very worn and unshined. They don't wear those kind in the theater, they wear the brown rough out boots, and are begining to wear them under other conditions even with the green camo BDUs. When they wear the black boots, they are pretty highly polished.

Those BOOTS were so important to Cindy that she left them outside, in a public place, unguarded for weeks. I'm not feeling sympathetic.

Don't know the answers, but have to wonder just exactly where these boots came from.

You don't turn in your boots or shoes. My boots are the only thing I have left from my AF ROTC field training. The uniforms, 1505s (khakis) and fatigues, had to be returned. Oh I did have a ball cap and some low quarter shoes, but I continued to wear the shoes when in uniform. I rarely wore the boots, since I rarely wore the fatigues, and I still have them, 34 years later. They are even fairly well shined, since I did wear them as a Reservist a couple of times a year back in the mid 1980s and have only worn them a couple of times since then.

On Labor Day, 2000 then Texas Governor Bush was in Naperville, Ill. The microphone picked up this conversation that wasn't meant for public consumption;

"There's Adam Clymer. Major league a$$hole from the New York Times," Bush said.

"Yeah, big time," returned Cheney.

Many of us quickly looked up Adam Clymer's articles and determined that Bush and Cheney were complimenting him. I wouldn't be that nice describing Clymer. From then on, some of us used the word Clymer in place of the word a$$hole. I still do.

I never heard of Clymer himself before that incident and only once after.

Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner:

“His boots were one of the last things that Cindy had of Casey

If they were so precious to her she would not have left them there.

Probably some local businesses repoing their stuff. I'll bet Cindy's happy little campers left all sorts of unpaid bills.

Every week I form a roadside memorial comprising of 2 cans memorializing the week that had just past and for some reason this big truck comes and steals it. I've called the township but to no avail.

I watched this stuff on the local news every night. Since she left there has been nothing mentioned. Not even the mention of the removed items. Must have been some real important stuff to leave it behind like that out in the open.

Thanks for the info. I haven't lived in Texas in 20 years and my memory is kind of fuzzy (I was only 8 when we left), so I wasn't sure what the Texas policy for roadside cleanups might be.

Here in Kentucky, families are able to put crosses to mark the site where a loved one perished in a car wreck, but any flowers or wreaths are usually removed in just a couple to days to prevent making a major distraction for other motorists.
