The Threat Matrix

The title refers to a daily report given to the president of the United States detailing the most serious terrorist threats against the country. To tackle those threats, the government has formed a top-notch task force to infiltrate the terror cells and cut off the danger.

"Every morning, the president receives a list of the top ten terrorist threats - this list is known as the threat matrix."

We here at FR are trying to be in conjunction with the daily reports around the world that involve threats. We try to provide a storehouse of information that takes hours of research.

Home grown Islamists may hit US: FBI chief
Full Story

WASHINGTON -- The United States could be attacked by "home grown" Islamist terror groups, the FBI's chief has warned.

FBI Director Robert Mueller told the London Financial Times newspaper in an interview published Thursday that the United States could face attacks from "home-grown terrorism" very similar to the July 7 bombings in London that killed 52 people and wounded another 700, Mueller said.

When asked if the United States could face such attacks from "home-grown groups", Mueller answered emphatically: "Absolutely, it could," the Financial Times said.

Updates on the Tulsa campus threat:

Suspicious Device Found Near Tulsa Community College Downtown Campus

Tulsa Police closed off portions downtown Tulsa Monday afternoon as a precaution after a suspicious device was found near TCC’s Metro Campus.

Tulsa Police say a suspicious package was found behind the right rear tire of a Tulsa Community College employee's vehicle in the campus' downtown parking lot. That employee called campus security, who in turn called Tulsa Police.

Tulsa Police's bomb squad was also called and used the squad's bomb robot to inspect that package.

Police closed off 10th and 11th Streets between Boston and Cincinnati as a precaution.

I was following the train derailment.

Here's a quote from the Chicago Tribune:

"The trouble began about 2:40 a.m., when two cars of a maintenance train came off the tracks near Clark and School Streets, officials said. The cars were empty, and no injuries were reported."
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/chi-ctaderail,1,7355065.story?coll=chi-news-hed

Thankfully, this wasn't a full train at rush hour.

Was that the plan?

A tractor-trailer carrying a potentially hazardous material overturned

.....State Police at Kirkwood said the truck was carrying at least 39,000 pounds of sodium hydrosulfite in a powdered form. Sodium hydrosulfite is a common chemical used in manufacturing. The chemical in its dry form is often used as a bleaching agent in the production of paper and textiles.

At least one of the steel transport containers was broken, and an unknown quantity of the material spilled into the median, state police said. .......

.....There were no injuries or evacuations, state police said. Twenty-one-year-old Ballcov Singh of Ontario, Canada, was operating the truck for Ontario Inc. of Mississauga, Ontario, police said. No charges were filed. The investigation is continuing, they said

Date: Mon 3 Oct 2005 From: ProMED-mail Source: icWales [edited] ______________________________________________________________ Number of _E. coli_ victims rises to 160 as outbreak expands ------------------------------------------------------------ The number of people with symptoms of _E. coli_ [O157] infection last night [2 Oct 2005] rose to 160 as the outbreak entered its 3rd week. -------------------------------- Most of the people who have been affected are children connected to 38 schools across 4 South Wales local authority areas. But a number of the latest cases are believed have been acquired in the community. --------------------------------- Public health experts have described the situation as "dynamic," as new cases continue to emerge. Earlier last week [final week September 2005], the outbreak control team had said that the outbreak was declining. But in the past 7 days, the number of people showing signs of the potentially lethal infection, which has seen several children rushed to the hospital for life- saving dialysis, has risen from 117 to 160. --------------------------------- The outbreak control team said that the figures have been revised, as some people who were originally suspected to have _E. coli_ O157 had not been confirmed and have been taken off the total. ---------------------------------- Children who fell ill after attending and eating lunch at the schools linked to the outbreak -- all 38 are in Rhondda Cynon Taf, Merthyr Tydfil, Caerphilly and Bridgend -- are all thought to have caught the infection before control measures were put in place a fortnight ago. -------------------------------- In a statement last night [2 Oct 2005], the outbreak control team said that the investigations were continuing "well" in the laboratories and that statistical evidence is still being collected. ---------------------------------- The meat supplier, John Tudor & Son, which is based on Bridgend Industrial Estate, is still the only business to have been publicly linked with the outbreak, although tests are still ongoing. [Byline: Madeleine Brindley] ----------------------------------------------------- -- ProMED-mail _______________________________________________________________ [As in the last posting, the article states that some cases were acquired outside the schools. The number of these cases is not stated, and whether they were secondary to the school-related cases is also unclear. - Mod.LL]

NOWSHERA, Oct 3 (Online):
Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal President Qazi Hussain Ahmad has predicted that Islamic revolution is on the offing soon after Eid-ul-Fitr.

Addressing the congregation of councilors and nazims , which included component groups of Al-Khidmat group , Progressive groups , and the Nowshera Councilors Ittehad group , he said the country would very soon rid of the shameful American culture of vulgarity , unemployment, graft and bribery, lawlessness prevailing under the Musharraf regime.

The convention was attended by 425 elected male and female councilors , nazims , vice nazims and members of minority LB representatives.

Qazi Sahib severely castigated President Musharraf's regime , which had failed to supply such basic amenities as clean , filtered , drinkable water, education ,health, and employment opportunities to the people. He said that the President was rather involved in all kinds of debauchery as practiced by his American masters.

He said continuous deteriorating situation of the country was forcing the closure of already functional industry rather than adding to new investment. Thousands of industrial related employees are facing a dark uncertain future and President Musharraf is totally misguiding the country about a bright future.

He said that unless all the nation did not raise a collective war against the current regime and rise in unison against its destructive policies , the people would not prosper.

He also denied the notion that winning of LB Polls was the aim and ultimate goal of our polity , but we endeavor to change the overall oppressive and detrimental system prevailing in the country.

He expressed great satisfaction about the fact that due to the current results of the LB Polls , the MMA polity was in a much better position to serve the District of Nowshera.

News of the weird:

Cereal To Blame For Evacuation, Officials Say Rotten Cream Of Wheat Blamed For Eye, Skin Irritation

POSTED: 2:14 pm EDT October 3, 2005

DEERFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- Authorities said rotten Cream of Wheat caused skin and eye irritation among workers at a Tri-State company Monday afternoon, News 5's Courtis Fuller reported.

Officials said the cereal dripped on six packages destined for the FACS Group on Duke Boulevard in Deerfield Township.

Someone opened a package in the payroll and processing area at about 1 p.m., releasing a foul odor, and took it to a Dumpster outside the building. One person later broke out in a rash and was taken to an area hospital.

Nearly 800 people were evacuated, and many left work for the day after spending several hours outside.

FACS is the credit services and centralized financial and administrative support resource for all Federated Department Stores divisions, including Bloomingdale's and the five Macy's department store divisions.

We are ignoring the fact that the blast was in front of the lab.

All those bio germs in there, waiting to attach to a person, if released.

I am beginning to not like the fact that it is being ignored by the MSM.

Even Savage was hung up on the new judge today.
