From Staff Reports
NORMAN -- An explosion near the University of Oklahoma's Gaylord Family-Memorial Stadium killed one person Saturday, OU officials said.

The explosion happened at the courtyard near the George Lynn Cross Hall, Botany-Microbiology Building on OU's campus, which is west of the stadium, according to Sgt. Gary Robinson of the University police department.

The explosion happened during the second quarter of Oklahoma's game against Kansas State.

After the explosion, police set up a perimeter of several blocks and made fans exit the stadium to the east.

This is weird... Remember, the press reported rumors as fact during Katrina, they are probably a little gun shy to report too fast now.

During Katrina, they knowingly reported rumor as fact because they had a clear battleplan: Bush is to blame for everything we can find... so find everything we can.

With this, it's trickier. Yes, they can say it's Bush's fault we're being attacked at home because of the war in Iraq. And the idiots who conveniently forget everything prior to March 19, 2003 will believe them. But there's no body count here. There's no footage to beat him over the head with. Bush can counter that the enemy is reduced to these smaller attacks because we have them preoccupied on their own turf, and he'll likely win that point with 3/4 of the people (the ones who still remember what it looked like when the towers fell).

Plus, reporting these things goes against the media's natural inclination to protect Islam. See the way they reported the anthrax attacks, the El AL shooting at LAX, the DC sniper, etc. They only report on Islam's crimes when they have to, when they're impossible to ignore -- and when they can ultimately blame the United States.

They're not touching this story because they suspect this was an Islamist, just like the rest of us.

Thanks!

I was going to put Go Bombers but I don't think it is appropriate for this thread.

This is off topic, but since I believe this incident is related to the war on terror, it reminded me that we taped a new show the other night that was quite interesting.

It is called the E-Ring and is on Wednesday nights at 9:00.

This show seems to reflect very well just how the Pentagon works as it relates to the war on terror. There is some humor and of course, moments of great seriousness.

There are scenes of Special Ops guys in Afghanistan and Iraq and it seemed quite realistic.

Re: Not much of a terrorist if you ask me... Reply

We heard the blast in the stands, didn't know what it was. Our bus was one of three impounded by the FBI, so we hitched a ride home on another bus, just got home. The driver of the bus parked just behind us (another of the three buses impounded) happened to be looking at the guy who was sitting on a bench outside the George Lynn Cross Botany building, which is RIGHT AT where our bus was. This other driver was knocked off his feet by the concussion and otherwise unhurt but spending the night with the FBI and local constabulary.

We couldn't get back to the bus; damn. I left a sandwich on it.

You say terrorists worked with McVay. Is that what the book says? This is one of the few "conspiracy theories" I think holds water but it seems to have fallen off the map.

#2 About the phones...Let's pray that this is Homeland Security playing intervention so that other "remotes" couldn't be set off...But why bring them back up so quickly? Maybe I'm just overthinking this.

Have they released the guys name yet? One would suspect the FBI is on this big time.

I've heard Jayna Davis speak on Quinn & Rose Morning show. (Pittsburgh - WPGB) She is very credible. I have no doubt, whatsoever, that she is telling the truth.

I was home the day OKC happened and saw the photo that was circulated for less than one day regarding John Doe #3. He was definitely Muslim.

A woman who was trapped inside the Murray building was standing at a window and saw a Muslim man leave the Ryder truck and McVeigh seconds before the blast. She was trapped inside for 12 hours while doctors worked to amputate her leg in order to free her from the rubble. She her recollection was not tainted by anyone else or any reporting on television.

As well, several people walking/jogging past the building reported seeing the same person leaving the truck.

There is much, much more to that book than I can ever accurately recount here. I can only tell you that I've recommended the book to a couple of liberal friends here in town, people who thought I was absolutely nuts to believe that an Iraqi Republican Guard helped McVeigh. But after they read the book, every single one of those people is convinced. And it changed their mind regarding the war in Iraq too, given what they learned in that book.

And just to set anyone's mind at ease when reading this post that it's all some sort of nutty conspiracy, Jim Woolsey, former CIA director, has read the book and endorses Jayna Davis's research and has been famously quoted as saying that when the world knows the truth about OKC, they will owe Davis a debt of gratitude.

Homeland Security must be aware of the Muslim activity in these Midwestern college towns. They are small communities, but of course, by virtue of the University have liberal agendas.

They have the same type of community structure in Columbia and Springfield, MO, yet the FEDS seems on the surface to acknowledge the situation and say let it be. These two towns have active Muslims that have been traced to be associated with OBL.

Very frightening times!

Another conspiracy theory intrigued me because I could never disprove it. The theory seemed unlikely on its face: Ramzi Yousef or Khalid Sheik Mohammad had taught Terry Nichols how to blow up the Oklahoma Federal Building. The problem was that, upon investigation, we established that both Ramzi Yousef and Nichols had been in the city of Cebu on the same days. I had been to Cebu years earlier; it is on an island in the central Philippines. It was a town in which word could have spread that a local girl was bringing her American boyfriend home and that the American hated the U.S. government.

Yousef and Khalid Sheik Muhammad had gone there to help create an al Qaeda spinoff, a Philippine affiliate chapter, named after a hero of the Afghan war against the Soviets, Abu Sayaff. Could the al Qaeda explosives expert have been introduced to the angry American who proclaimed his hatred for the U.S. government? We do not know, despite some FBI investigation. We do know that Nichols's bombs did not work before his Philippine stay and were deadly when he returned. We also know that Nichols continued to call Cebu long after his wife returned to the United States. The final coincidence is that several al Qaeda operatives had attended a radical Islamic conference a few years earlier in, in all places, Oklahoma City."

I just saw the thread on FR and then heard the "report" on FNC.

The news babe said "there was an explosion and apparently this was a suicide" Move along now, nothing to see here, move along.
