From Staff Reports
NORMAN -- An explosion near the University of Oklahoma's Gaylord Family-Memorial Stadium killed one person Saturday, OU officials said.

The explosion happened at the courtyard near the George Lynn Cross Hall, Botany-Microbiology Building on OU's campus, which is west of the stadium, according to Sgt. Gary Robinson of the University police department.

The explosion happened during the second quarter of Oklahoma's game against Kansas State.

After the explosion, police set up a perimeter of several blocks and made fans exit the stadium to the east.

Agree. That's probably because there's nothing more to report right now.
(Note: I didn't say the police don't know anymore, just that they're not saying)

BTW..I've been reading FR pretty much every day for 2 years or so , somtimes for hours at a time till the wee hours. Just because I decided to join the posting end of this site recently dosen't mean I dont know what great work goes on in here. Deliberate news blackout to appease you know who?

Do you use tinfoil or aluminum foil?

We are still separate from OKC! Open countryside every direction out of Norman going north at least for now!

Not so much on I-35, but the other major roads, Sunnylane, Sooner Road, etc do still have quite a bit of open space. But they had a lot less when I worked there two years ago than they did when I was stationed at Tinker and took two courses at OU in the mid '70s.

...the forum has started to become a cheerleading forum for the Republican Party which seems to have sold its soul to NWO.

Yes on one... no on two.

I'm disappointed in your comment.

Just when did you join the Admin Moderators group as the new (PC) Thought Police Department monitor?

If this thread is as stupid as you say, then why are you posting any comments at all.

---wowow relax...I'm only saying I dont see any cause here to think this was a botched terrorist attack and I dont , so far, see a media cover up plot on this story..---

Right! Stuff like this happens every day. Bombs go off outside crowded stadiums and nobody says jack. Why should they? Just a suicide that couldn't find a bridge to jump off. Happens every day. They'll find the head and return it to Akmed's family and then we can read all about it in his obit.

Think of the shrapnel that would have been blasted into the crowd if buses exploded. I think the primary cause of death in bomb plasts is the force of the blast itself. However this usually kills those in the direct path within a certain distance. The the second cause is shrapnel. Since shrapnel can spread over a much wider area you may actually have more fatalities from the shrapnel. In a bus you also have the fact fires would start. Depending on where the buses were parked I guess it would be possibe for the fire to spread. This is all speculation of course.

I don't know if this is relevant- but it strikes me that suicidal people aren't thinking very clearly. Making a bomb does require a degree of clarity and planning. Of course there's always the exception that proves the rule- but it seems an odd choice for a depressed person.

The second question would be, "...an why would they leave a second bomb behind?"

To explode when responders came. This is a real and known danger to EMT, police, fire and other personnel responding to terrorist incidents.

Of course - but based on the fact that there was a bomb and the person "carrying" it was in a public place, it is unlikely it was a suicide.

NORMAN, Okla. - One person was killed in an explosion near a packed football stadium at the University of Oklahoma on Saturday night in what authorities said appeared to be a suicide.

I'm disappointed in yours.

I thought we were all free to express our opinions? Does doing so mean that I am all of a sudden a member of the thought police? You know better than that. I expressed my opinion, and moved on. I did nothing to add to the nonsense or subtract from it.

I posted my comment because I think by now many of you should know better. I said my peace, (which is allowed) and moved on. I dont post to be agreed with, but to share my views. The thought police are on DU.
