From Staff Reports
NORMAN -- An explosion near the University of Oklahoma's Gaylord Family-Memorial Stadium killed one person Saturday, OU officials said.

The explosion happened at the courtyard near the George Lynn Cross Hall, Botany-Microbiology Building on OU's campus, which is west of the stadium, according to Sgt. Gary Robinson of the University police department.

The explosion happened during the second quarter of Oklahoma's game against Kansas State.

After the explosion, police set up a perimeter of several blocks and made fans exit the stadium to the east.

I've been turned to FOX for 20 minutes. Geraldo is talking about the young lady in Aruba, the prick Vandersloot in Holland, and the Bali bombings which have been there all day. Not one word about Oklahoma City explosion. It does not make sense, give FOX had a news alert yesterday that there might be a news alert regarding a possible nomination of a possible SC justice. What is up?

Where's FEMA ?

They're in New Orleans saving the President's reputation among people that would never vote for him anyway.

Yes. That's when I was there. Went to the Support Our Troops Rally. Sunday's event was on the mall between the Capitol and the Monument, closer to the Capitol.

For the explosion to have occurred outside a biochemistry building indicates the perpetrator probably was not associated with biochemistry. If he/she had been associated with biochemistry and as so dedicated to building a weapon as it takes to build an explosive bomb, the consequences could have been far more devestating. Unless it was a suicide after a biochemical attack has already occured and the effects have not yet been perceived.

When asked "Do you know the nationality of the bomber?"....the reply was "um...we don't know if it was a male or female". F'king useless scumbags....you know the nationality.

Is the new Saudi stake in Fox already having its influence? I sincerely hope not.

"And as people have stated, the name released will likely be a giveaway."

Not necessarily...remember the names we were first given for the D.C. snipers and recently for the muslim bank robbers in CA? The names the MSM gives us are not accurate.

"Rabbit Fever" often used in biological warefare labs. I have never seen a case of it in nearly 30 years of practice.

Homeland security=bureaucratic cluelessness

Which is what some FReepers were saying when it was being proposed while being shouted down by the Bush cheerleaders.

Whoa! I never thought of that last thing.

If I had a kid at that school, I'd tell him to come home right now until they figure out exactly what is going on.

Hi All-

The poor pizza deliveryman, Brian Wells of Erie, Pennsylvania, who had the bomb locked around his neck and was subsequently murdered by the blast. Likely a very different situation than what just happened at the football game.

Explosive Device Kills One At University Of Oklahoma

POSTED: 9:28 pm CDT October 1, 2005
UPDATED: 9:57 pm CDT October 1, 2005

One person was killed in an explosion in a traffic circle about 100 yards from a packed football stadium at the University of Oklahoma on Saturday night.

Authorities were calling the death a suicide.

The loud noise of the explosion could be heard inside Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, where 84,000 people were watching the Oklahoma Sooners play Kansas State.

Officers cordoned off an area west of the stadium after the explosion and nobody was allowed out of the stadium immediately after the blast, which occurred shortly before 8 p.m., at about halftime of the game. People were allowed out of the stadium at about 8:30 p.m.

A police bomb squad detonated explosives found at the site of the blast.

The area near the stadium was searched by bomb dogs.

And neither is most of what they initially report which is my point.

I fail to understand after Katrina why anyone is seeking their imput in the initial minutes. They are not reliable sources of info.

The Truth is gradually known in time once events calm down. As the names of those you cited were known afterward. I've no use for conspiracies or rumors.
