LOS ANGELES - Although they were born on different planets, Oscar-winning actor Nicolas Cage's new son and Superman have something in common - both were named Kal-el.

Alice Kim Cage gave birth Monday to Kal-el Coppola Cage in New York City, said the actor's Los Angeles-based publicist, Annett Wolf. No other details were available, the spokeswoman said.

Sounds kind of Arabic at first, then I remembered that in the Latin all the named Angels were named that way: Gabri-el, Micha-el, Ezeki-el. The -el stands for Messenger or Angel. Maybe the City of Angels flick got to him! LOL.
