Cage's movies are like kryptonite to me.

"I'm guessing she's Korean, not Japanese. "Kim" is the most common Korean surname, not a polysyllabic Japanese name. Her face looks more Korean than Japanese. And those look like Korean traditional clothes they're wearing. "
now that you mention it she does appear more Korean than Japanese but when i read the article i made the Japanese assumption due to sushi bar employment. If i am mistaken i apologize.

And is "Japanese decent" a comment on her decency, or was that supposed to be, "Japanese descent"? ;-)

Could be both. If her descent is Japanese or Korean or a mix, she looks pretty decent to me.

Yep she is half his age, former waitress (how they met) and Japanese decent.

Actually, with a family name of "Kim", she's:

a. not very likely to be of Japanese descent.

b. very, very likely to be of Korean

I suppose nobody else cares, but I do...

kind of admire Cage for refusing to trade on his uncle's cinematic reputation by changing his name when he went into acting.

Actually, he changed his name some time after he went into acting. He was initially credited, in his early movies, (Fast Times at Ridgemont Hight) as "Nicholas Coppola"

She is very attractive. I didn't realize Kristin Kreuk who plays Lana Lang was part Oriental until I read it somewhere.

Now that I know it she looks almost totally Asian. I think She is part Dutch, not sure what else.

Cage actually borrowed his stage name from a comic book hero, Luke Cage, aka Power Man:

Didn't the character have a real name, though? Barbara Jean?

I can't remember. I just remember Scout. When I heard it was after the To Kill a Mockingbird character, I liked the name. The girl in the book had lots of spunk.

I thought it was much different than naming a kid "Apple" or other wierd names.

I was hoping he'd make the kid's first name "Despite All My Rage I Am Still Just A Rat In A"
